Baltimore County Union 
May 3, 1873

PENNINGTON, STUART     In Brooklyn, N. Y., on the 18th ult., of dropsy on 
the brain, Stuart, infant son of Chas W. and Irene Pennington, and grand-son 
of James and the late E. A. Pennington of Maryland, aged 2 months and 13 days.

MILLER, LILLY     Near Wiseburg, Baltimore county, on the 8th of April, Lilly, 
eldest daughter of H. and M. E. Miller, aged 3 years, 7 months and 5 days.

ANDERSON, IRA G.     Near Monkton, Baltimore county, on the 25th ult., Ira G. 
Anderson, in the 81st year of his age, one of the “Old Defenders” of 1812.

HOGAN, PATRICK   At Govanstown, on the 24th ult., Patrick Hogan in the 61st 
year of his age.

TILGHMAN, JACOB  At Woodberry, on the 23d ult., Jacob Tilghman, aged 87 years.

JONES, JOHN A.   On the 26th ult., at Govanstown, John A. Jones, aged 51 years.

YOUNGER, RICHARD    At Hookstown, on the 29th ult., Richard Younger, in the 
75th year of his age.

KANE, REBECCA     At Woodberry on the 28th ult., Rebecca, wife of Edward Kane, 
in her 22d year.

HAYDEN, BRIDGET   At Hampden on the 26th ult., Bridget Hayden, in the 14th year 
of her age.

ALLENDER, JOHN W.   In Havre de Grace, Harford county, on the 23d of April, of 
cerebro spinal meningitis, John W., aged 17 years and 4 months, son of Charles 
and Mary Allender.

TILGHMAN, JACOB     Death Of An Old Defender.  Jacob Tilghman, aged 87 years, 
and a soldier in the war of 1812, died at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. 
Geo. B. Smith, of Woodberry, Baltimore county, on Thursday of last week.  Mr. 
Tilghman’s occupation was formerly that of a farmer in Baltimore county, but 
for the past four years he had been very feeble and infirm.

ANDERSON, IRA G.     Another.  Mr. Ira G. Anderson, another Old Defender, died 
at his residence near Monkton, on April 25th, in the 81st year of his age.
