Parks, wife of Mr. Samuel E. Parks, a well known farmer near Towson, died suddenly at her home, "Oakland," about 6 o'clock on Wednesday morning last. She had been complaining for some days, but had been going about as usual and nothing serious was apprehended. Wednesday morning she suddenly grew worse, soon became unconscious and died before assistance could be summoned. Dr. R. C. Massenburg, her physician, said that heart disease was the cause of her death. Mrs. Parks, who was 65 years of age, was a native of Baltimore county and a daughter of the late William Lee. Beside her husband she is survived by three sons and five daughters. Two of the sons - Messrs. Elisha W. and Samuel A. Parks - are young farmers near Towson, while one of the daughters is the wife of Mr. W. Gill Smith, a well known member of the Towson bar. She also leaves several brothers and sisters, among them Mr. J. Wesley Lee, of Towson; Mr. Alfred G. Lee, of Dulany's Valley; and Mr. Wm. N. Lee, of Brooklandville. Mrs. Parks was in all respects a most excellent Christian woman and her death carries sorrow into the hearts of a very large family connection, as well as to many friends. She was an active and consistent member of Epsom M. P. Church, Towson, for many years - in fact she was one of the pillars of the church, and her loss to it, as well as to the greatly bereaved family, will be well nigh irreparable. Mrs. Parks' kindness of heart and unostentatious charities were known almost entirely to those who were the constant recipients of them, and they also have lost a friend whose place will never be filled. The funeral took place at "Oakland" on Friday afternoon and was very largely attended. The interment was in the family lot in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Towson. CATHELL, JOSEPH - Mr. Joseph Cathelll, a well known farmer residing about two miles east of Sweet Air, in the 10th district, of Baltimore county, died on Thursday, after an illness of two weeks. He had a severe attack of pneumonia, but had gotten better of that when his heart became involved and this caused his death. Mr. Cathell, who was about 68 years of age, at one time was engaged in storekeeping on the York road about where St. Ann's Church now stands. He disposed of that business years ago and purchased the 10th district farm, where he had since resided. He is survived by a widow and two daughters. His only son died several years ago. Mr. Cathell,, who was a kind neighbor and in all respects an upright citizen, was a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. One of his surviving brothers is Dr. D. W. Cathell, a prominent physician of Baltimore. The funeral took place today, (Saturday) and the interment will be in the cemetery at Chestnut Grove Church, near Sweet Air. GORSUCH, B. HOWARD - Mr. B. Howard Gorsuch, an ex-judge of the Baltimore county Orphans' Court, died on Thursday morning at his home, near Mt. Carmel, 5th district, after a short illness from pleuro-pneumonia, aged 56 years. Deceased, who was a highly respected farmer, was a son of the late Benjamin Gorsuch, who was once a member of the Board of County Commissioners. He is survived by a widow and two children - Dr. H. Stanley Gorsuch, of the Maryland General Hospital, and Mrs. Price, wife of Mr. Wilbert Price. He also leaves three brothers - Messrs. Jacob, Lewis and George Gorsuch, all residents of the 5th disstrict. Mr. Gorsuch was a member and trustee of Mt. Carmel M. E. Church and also a member of Mt. Carmel Conclave of the order of Heptasophs. SLINGLUFF, R. SEWELL - Mr. R. Sewell Slingluff died at the City Hospital in Baltimore, on the 27th ult., aged 34 years. He had been sick several weeks with typhoid fever and Bright's disease. Deceased was a son of Mr. Fielder C. Slingluff by his first marriage, and a nephew of Mr. C. Bohn Slingluff, of Baltimore county. He was a popular young business man and had many friends in this county who were shocked to hear of his untimely death. Mr. Slingluff is survived by a widow, who is a daughter of Dr. E. A. McSherry, of Frederick, Md., and two young children. TURNBAUGH, MARY A. - Mrs. Mary A. Turnbaugh, wife of Mr. John Turnbaugh, who lives near Mantua Mills, 4th district, died on Monday last, aged 66 years. The cause of her death was pneumonia, from which she had suffered but three days. She is survived by a husband, three sons and three daughters. Her funeral took place at Pleasant Grove M. E. Church on Tuesday. Rev. Charles T. Harvey conducted the services. STUMP, LOUIS H. - Mr.Louis H. Stump died at his home in Reisterstown, on the 25th ult., aged about 60 years. The cause of his death was consumption, from which he had been a long sufferer. Mr. Stump was a blacksmith by trade and carried on the business many years in Reisterstown. He is survived by a widow and two daughters - Mrs. Thomas Cofiel and Mrs. Frank Miller, of Mt. Carmel -and one son. LOANE, JABEZ W. - Mr. Jabez W. Loane, who died at his home in Bal;timore, on Monday last, was well known in Baltimore county. He was 82 years of age and for over sixty years was engaged in the manufacture of tents and sails on (illegible.) Mr. Loane had been a local preacher of the Methodist Episcopal Church since 1859.
