Baltimore County Democrat Jan. 25, 1896
John Garnett (Garrett), colored, a local preacher of the United African 
Methodist Protestant Church, died suddenly Sunday at his home in Towson.  His 
death, it is said, was caused by heart disease.  He was about seventy years 
old and leaves a wife and one grown son.  He had been an invalid for some time.
