Mitchell, at Port Tobacco, Charles county, on August 5th, 1890, COL. DANIEL JENIFER, in the 7h year of his age, late of "Good Hope," Baltimore county. EICHELBERGER, SOPHIE E. - At her residence, York Road, near Guilford, Saturday, August 2d, 1890, at 10 A. M., SOPHIE E. EICHELBERGER, in the 41st year of her age, the beloved wife of Samuel E. Eichelberger. On Saturday last,, 2d inst., the large circle of relatives and friends of Mr. Samuel Eichelberger, of "Locust Grove," on the York Road, near Govanstown, were deeply shocked to learn of the death of his wife after a few days illness, leaving a babe but four days old. The deceased was but 41 years of age, and leaves a distressed husband and ten children to mourn her loss. Her funeral, which was largely attended, took place on Monday morning, 4th inst. There was a requiem mass at St. Mary's Church, Govanstown, with the Very Rev. D. E. Lyman, R. D., pastor of the church, as celebrant. - the pall- bearers were- Hon. N. Chas. Burke, John L. Rosensteel, Col. L. B. McCabe, Thomas S. Brady. The interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery. The greatest sympathy is expressed for the bereaved family in the irreparable loss which they have sustained. SANDS, ELIZABETH - On Sunday, August 3d, 1890, at 7.40 A. M., at her residence, 1303 Division street, Baltimore, ELIZABETH SANDS, aged 101 years and 5 months, relict of John Sands. GILLIN, JOHN P. - At Wetheredsville, Baltimore county, on August 4th, 1890, JOHN P. GILLIN, in the 28th year of his age, beloved son of Patrick and Ellen Gillin. BAKER, RICHARD - Suddenly, at his late residence, Hernwood, 2d District, Baltimore county, on the 2d of August, 1890, RICHARD BAKER, aged 84 years. HALL, DONALD - On Sunday, August 3d, 1890, at the residence of his parents, "Bleak House," Baltimore county, DONALD, aged 10 months, infant son of Alice and R. Quincy Hall. GORE, IGNATIUS - In Baltimore, on August 3, 1890, IGNATIUS GORE, aged 83 years. Col. Ignatius Gore, a native of Carroll county, but for the past fifteen years engaged in business in Baltimore, died at his residence, 1404 Eutaw Place, on Saturday, 2d inst., aged 80 years. He was in his earlier years a farmer in Carroll county, but of later years he was manager of the hotel at the corner of Holiday and Fayette streets, but for two or three years past he had not been connected with it. He was a man of great vivacity, and genial and happy in his nature and was related to some families in the 4th District. He was a member of Henry Clay Lodge of Odd Fellows, Reisterstown. His body was interred at Freedom, Carroll county. A widow and one daughter, Mrs. Charles Thompson, survive him. Mrs. Thompson came from California, where she resides, to be at his bedside before death. GUNSELMAN, MARY ANN - In the 12th District, on August 2d, 1890, MARY ANN GUNSELMAN, in the 35th year of her age, wife of John J. Gunselman. DUMAX, A. ELIZABETH - At Rosedale, Baltimore county, on August 3d, 1890, MRS. A. ELIZABETH DUMAX, in the 57th year of her age. GALLOWAY, PATTY - At her residence, 705 North Calvert street, on the morning of August 2, 1890, PATTY GALLOWAY, nee Whiteford, 106 years of age. SLADE, WILLIAM A. - William A. Slade, aged 23 years, unmarried, son of Mr. Frank Slade, of Owings' Mills, Baltimore county, was killed at Wilmington, Delaware, on Sunday, 3d inst., whilst engaged in coupling cars in the yard of the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad Company. BACHTEL, MRS. - Mrs. Bachtel, wife of Mr. Samuel Bachtel, Sr., was buried on the 6th inst. at Franklinville Presbyterian Cemetery. Mrs. Samuel Bachtel, wife of our genial "Squire, died on Monday, 4th inst., after a lingering illness. She was buried at the Franklinville Presbyterian Cemetery. WILLIAMS, ANN - On Thursday, 31st of August (as written in paper), ANN WILLIAMS, colored, for about thirty years a valued servant in the Ridgely family, Hampton, died at the mansion, aged about 70 years. Ann had been housekeeper for many years, and had charge of the large mansion, a position of much responsibility and labor. She had seen two generations raised in the venerable mansion, and all esteemed her in the highest possible degree. She was amiable, faithful and patient. - When the civil war broke out in 1861 and the colored people were set free by President Lincoln, Ann remained faithful to the family and continued to perform her accustomed duty, and so continued until physically incapacitated. When old age brought with it sickness, Mrs. Charles Ridgely tenderly cared for her, and no want was left unsupplied, the ladies of the family waiting upon her personally, ministering to her wants and soothing her last moments with kind words. When death came her body was prepared for burial and the casket in which she laid was placed in the memorable hall of the mansion, where solemn service were held previous to interment. Through all her long life Ann maintained the highest integrity of character and died an humble christian. By economy she saved a considerable sum of money, which was carefully invested for her benefit. Her body was interred in the old burial plot devoted to the colored people who at various times have been servants upon Hampton. STORM, ROSALIE C., STORM, EDITH V., JOHNSON, MRS. J. R. , GRAHAM, CARROLL On Friday morning 8th inst. intelligence was received by the Baltimore Sun and printed in an extra, that Mrs. Rosalie C. Storm and Miss Edith V. Storm, wife and daughter of Mr. Samuel W. Storm, now in the Tax Department at the City Hall, Baltimore, and well known throughout Baltimore county, as also Mrs. J. R. Johnson, wife of the Secretary of the Viaduct Manufacturing Company and Carroll, a 9-year-old son of Mr. J. S. Graham, Clerk at Spring Grove Asylum, Catonsville, were drowned in St. Inigoe's Creek, near Roscroft's, St. Mary county, Md., Thursday afternoon, 7th inst. whilst bathing. It is stated that the Steamer Sue, which came along at the time, created a wave which caused the undertow to carry Mrs. Storm and Carroll Graham off their feet. The cries of both caused Mrs. Johnson to assist Carroll and Miss Edith her mother, in which efforts both lost their lives. The Sue stopped, and some oyster vessels coming up assisted in recovering the bodies and they were brought to Baltimore on the Sue on Friday morning. The deepest sympathy is extended to Mr. Storm in his sad affliction. HILDT, CHILD - Mr. Charles Hildt buried his only child on last Sunday at Salem.
