His father's given name, Vaughn, is misspelled as "Vaughan." Additional Comments: John William WRIGHTSON was named after his grandfather, John William WRIGHTSON (1827-1887). John was born to Vaughn Alonzo WRIGHTSON and Ida Belle TENNISON in St. Mary's County, MD on April 1, 1888. His sibling's included: William A.C. WRIGHTSON (1879-1923); Eva Belle WRIGHTSON (1885-1952); Hallie Augusta WRIGHTSON SHINNAMON (1891-1945); and Constance O. WRIGHTSON BENSON (1893- 1977). His first wife's name is unknown to this submitter. They were married abt.1909 (based on the 1930 census showing John age 21 at his first marriage). He had two sons with his first wife: John C. WRIGHTSON (b.abt.1915) and Howard Vaughn WRIGHTSON (1916-1992). His WWI draft registration shows him married with two sons and living in Baltimore County, employed as a clothes cutter. After his first wife died abt.1916, he married Frederika "Freda" Amelia STOCKHAUSEN (1894-2000) on November 23, 1916 in Baltimore, MD. They had a son, Charles William WRIGHTSON (1917-2005). Living with them and the 3 children was John's widowed mother, Ida. Freda left the marriage in 1918 and returned with her son to live with her parents in Baltimore City. John is listed as "married" in the 1920 census in Baltimore City. After their divorce, John did not remarry and remained estranged from his son, Charles. In the 1930 census, his mother, Ida, his two sons from his first marriage, and his sister, Constance WRIGHTSON BENSON, were living with him in Baltimore City. John's WWII draft registration shows him living in Catonsville, Baltimore, MD, employed at Hanover Shirt and Uniform Company.
