Billmire, a cigar manufacturer. The ceremony was performed by Rev J.W. Kirk at the home of the bride's mother, 1629 Edmondson avenue. Edwards M. Brooks, who is the plaintiff in the breach-of-promise suit, called at the home of the groom, 535 North Calhoun street, yesterday and demanded an audience with him. Mr Billmire was not at home at the time and members of his family ordered Mr. Brooks away. They said Mr. Brooks declared that the marriage should not take place and that he would "move heaven and earth to prevent it". It was also stated that he had sent letters to Miss Delcher in which he made similar threats. Mr. Brooks has the distinction, it is said, of being the first man in Baltimore to bring a suit at law for breach of promise of marriage. Miss Delcher is eighteen years old. Mrs Delcher said her daughter became acquianted with Mr Brooks in March 1894 at the Shaftsbury College of Expression. That balcony scene from "Romeo and Juliet" was given at one of the enterainments of the college, Mr Brooks being cast for Romeo and Miss Delcher taking the part of Juliet. Mr. Brooks first called at Miss Delcher's home, it is said, for the purpose of rehearshaling the balcony scene with her.
