E. Church, Baltimore county, by Rev. G. H. Beckley, Jacob Smith Valentine and Katie Griswold, both of Baltimore county. Pitts – Benson On the 3d of September, 1890, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, at Arcadia, Baltimore county, by Rev. G. H. Beckley, Henry S. Pitts, of Baltimore city, and Ella E. Benson, of Baltimore county. On Wednesday, 3d inst., St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Fowblesburg, Baltimore county, was filled with a large audience to witness the marriage of Miss Ella E. Benson, daughter of Mr. E. T. Benson, of Fowblesburg, and Mr. Harry S. Pitts, of Baltimore. The Rev. Geo. Beckley, assisted by the Rev. Joshua L. Benson, uncle of the bride, officiated. The church was beautifully trimmed with evergreens, and a large circle with a bell of roses hung in the chancel. The ushers were Messrs. Geo. Chilcoat, Thomas Byerly, Samuel Bacon and Dr. Theo. Price. The wedding march was splendidly rendered by Mr. Robert L. Slagle, of York, Pa. The bridal party went from the church to “Rosemont,” the residence of the bride’s father, where a reception was held. Among the large number present were Dr. Ruskin and Miss Grace Bender, of Hanover, Pa.; Mrs. Bante of Ohio, Miss May Richards of New York, Mr. and Mrs. George Tawney, Misses Jennie Tawney, Wheeler, Addie Richards, Dora Kemp, Vallie and May Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Watts, Mrs. E. D. Selby, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Stocksdale, Geo. Prechtel, Mrs. Howard Armacost, Miss Ettie Roop, Mrs. Melchoir Armacost, Miss Lizzie Armacost, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Algire, Mrs George Deal, Lewis Cofiell, Frank Benson, Mr. and Mrs. Edw. C. Gill, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Cole, Joshua Pitts, Jas. The bride received many handsome and costly presents, the groom’s present being a deed for a house and lot in Baltimore, where they will reside on their return from a ten day’s trip North. Van Trump – Trout Mr. Simon Van Trump and Miss Jennie Trout were married at the parsonage at Parkton on the 4th inst., by the Rev. Mr. Roberts. Mr. Frank Wilson was the best man and Miss Cora Trout the bridesmaid. The newly married couple made their appearance at West Liberty on Sunday last and looked very happy. We wish them much success in life. Wolf - Davis Mr. Jacop P. Wolf, of Bentley Springs, and Miss Rena Davis, of Rayville, were married by the Rev. J. P. Koontz on last Thursday night, 4th inst. We hope that the words of the poet, “With secret course which no loud storms annoy, Glides the smooth current of domestic joy,” may be theirs. Yours, & c., H.
