Dickey {S} Last Will and Testament In the name of God Amen! I George S. Dickey of the City of Baltimore in the State of Maryland being in feeble health, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs, so that I may be the better prepared to leave this world, whenever it shall please God to call me hence, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say. First. I direct my funeral expenses and just debts to be paid out of my Estate as soon as convenient after my decease. Second. I give and bequeath all my Household and Kitchen Furniture, Books, Plate, and other Personal Property in my Dwelling at the time of my demise to my dear wife, Ann Eliza Dickey, her heirs and assigns absolutely Third. I give and bequeath to my sons George S. Dickey and Charles E. Dickey their heirs and assigns the sum of one thousand Dollars each. Bur having several times advanced to my said Son Charles E. Dickey various sums of money, part of which only has been repaid by him, now I hereby direct that he shall be required to refund to my Estate such sum, as may be due by him and charged against him on my Books at the time of my death with Interest from the 1{st} day of June 1868 provided the same has not been paid in the meantime. Fourth. I give and bequeath to my son Charles E. Dickey, his heirs, executors or administrators, the sum of One thousand Dollars in Trust and Confidence nevertheless, that is to say, In Trust, to invest the same in some profitable Stock or other good Security for the sole and separate use and benefit of my Daughter Clara R. Dulany, Wife of William J. C. Dulany, for and during her natural life, and from and immediately after ? ? then I give and bequeath the said One thousand Dollars, or the Stock or other Security in which the same may have been invested, to the child or children of my said daughter Clara R. Dulany, their heirs or assigns to be equally divided between them for stirpes and not per capita freed from all further Trust. But in the event of the death of my said daughter Clara without leaving children, or descendants of a child or children Surviving her, then I give and bequeath the said One thousand Dollars to such of my children and descendants of any deceased child, as may be their living, to be equally divided between them per stirpes and not per capita. Fifth. I give and bequeath to my son Harold Dickey, his heirs and assigns the sum of Two thousand Dollars, But in the event of my death, before my said son Harold shall have arrived at the age of twenty one years, then I appoint my son Charles E. Dickey Guardian of his said Brother, until he shall become of legal age. Sixth. All the rest and residue of my Estate real personal or mixed, I give devise and bequeath to my dear Wife Ann Eliza Dickey for and during her natural life, and from and immediately after her death to my daughter Elizabeth R. Dickey her heirs and assigns. And Lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Wife Ann Eliza Dickey sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, at the same time revoking and annulling all former Wills by me made, and declaring this to be my only one. And I hereby authorize and empower my said Executrix to sell all or any part of my real or personal Estate either at public or private Sale, and on such terms as she may think best, and upon receipt of the purchase money therefore to convey the sums by good and sufficient Deed or Deeds to the purchaser or purchasers thereof, for the purpose of enabling her to pay my debts and the legacies bequeathed in this my Will without however making the purchasers liable to see to the application of said purchase money. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my Seal this fourth day of June in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and Sixty eight. George S. Dickey, the above Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto Theo. On the 3{rd} day of June 1869 came Ann Eliza Dickey and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of the Almighty God that she doth not know of any Will or Codicil of George S. Dickey, late of said City deceased other than the above instrument of wrigint and that she received the same from the Testator at the time of its execution and has retained it in her possession since that time. That the Testator departed this life on the 28{th} day of May 1869 Sworn to in Open Court Test: J Harman Brown Register of Wills for Baltimore City Baltimore City. On the 3d day of June 1869 came Theodore Glocker, William F. Cooke and R. L. Ridgely the three subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and Testament of Goerge S. Dickey late of said City deceased, and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that they did see the Testator sign and Seal this Will that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament that at the time of his so doing, he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, and that they subscribed their names as Witnesses to this Will in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other. Test: J Harman Brown, Register of Wills for Baltimore City In Baltimore City Orphans’ Court: The Court after having carefully examined the above last Will and Testament of George S. Dickey, late of Balimore City, deceased and also the evidence adduced as torts validity, Orders and Decrees, this Third day of Juen 1869 that the same be admitted in this Court as the true and genuine last Will and Testament of the Said George S.
