Dickey (d1896) Will Baltimore County MD Maryland Hall of Records Liber 11, folio 10 (Microfilm CR 121-2) Written 19 May 1896 Codicil Written 17 June 1896 Probate 18 August 1896 William J. Dickey Last Will and Testament and Codicil I, William J. Dickey do make this my last Will and Testament First. I give, devise and bequeath to my nephew David Jamison all his indebtedness to me, hereby meaning to acquit and release him and his wife and children from any obligation therefor. Second. I give, devise and bequeath to the Church at Whetheredville, Baltimore County Maryland, known as the Wetheredville Presbyterian Church or by whatever Corporate name it is properly known, such a sum of money as when invested will Yield an Annual income of eight hundred Dollars. This sum is to be used for the General support of the Church including the Ministers Salary. Third. All the rest and residue of by Estate of every description, I give, devise and bequeath to my Trustees hereinafter named in trust to hold the same for Seven Years from the day of my death, paying the income there from to my wife and children and the daughter of my deceased child the late Mrs. Charles W. Dorsey in equal proportions, with power to my said Trustees or the Survivor or Survivors of them during said seven years to continue the business in which I have been engaged and in all respects during that time to manage my Estate including the power to make sales of property as fully as I had power to manage it myself. Fourth. At the end of said seven Years I direct my said Trustees or the Survivors or survivor of them to divide my Estate among my wife and children and said daughter of my deceased child as it would have been divided had I died intestate, Except that before so dividing said Estate so left in trust to them, I will and direct that they shall pay to my son William A. Dickey the sum of Sixty thousand Dollars as a special legacy. Fifth. I appoint my wife Agnes Dickey and my sons George A. Dickey and William A. Dickey my Executors and Trustees under this my Will, directing that my said Executors shall not be required to give any bond. As Witness my hand and seal this Nineteenth day of May 1896. William J. Dickey as and for his last Will and testament in our presence, who, in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have at his request signed our names hereto as witnesses thereof. Randolph Barton Randolph Barton, Jr. Baltimore County On the 18{th} day of August 1896, came Randolph Barton and Randolph Barton, Jr. subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last Will and Testament of William J. Dickey, late of said county deceased, and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that they did see the Testator sign seal this Will, that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament; that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, And that they subscribed their names as witnesses to this Will in his presence at his request, and in the presence of each other. Sworn to in open Court. Test: Henry J. Hebb, Register of Wills for Baltimore County Codicil I, William J. Dickey do Add this Codicil to my Will I so far alter its provisions as to direct that the share of my Estate which is to be distributed to my daughter Sarah Jane Dorsey, wife of Charles W. Dorsey, she shall hold and enjoy for her life and at her death it shall become the property of her son Edgar Dorsey, absolutely. It is my Will, also, that the Dispensary at the Wetheredville Mills and the Disposing at the Oella Mills, Baltimore County, Maryland, shall continue to receive from my Estate during the Seven Years it is to be held by my Trustees and Executors the same support they now receive from me. Dickey as and for a Codicil to his foregoing Will in our presence, who, in his presence and in the presence of each other have at his request signed our names hereto as witnesses thereof Randolph Barton Elizabeth Collins Lee Baltimore County On the 18{th} day of August, 1896, Came Randolph Barton and Elizabeth Collins Lee, subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing Codicil to the Last Will and Testament of William J. Dickey, late of said County deceased, and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that they did see the Testator sign and seal this Codicil, that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be a Codicil to his last Will and Testament; that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, And that they subscribed their names as witnesses to this Codicil in his presence at this request, and in the presence of each other. Sworn to in open court Test: Henry J. Hebb Register of Wills for Baltimore County Baltimore County One the 18th day of August, 1896, came George A. Dickey and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that he does not know of any Will or Codicil of William J. Dickey, late of said County, deceased, other than the above Instruments of Writing, And that he found the same among the papers of the testator on or about the 17the day of August, 1896. Hebb Register of Wills for Baltimore County In the Orphans Court of Baltimore County: The Court, after having carefully examined the above last Will and Testament of William J. Dickey, late of Baltimore County, deceased, together with the Codicil thereunto attached, and also the evidence adduced as to its Validity, Orders and Decrees that this 18{th} day of August, 1896, that the same be admitted in this Court as the true and genuine last Will and Testament and Codicil of the Said William J.
