These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ************************************************************************ Will of Sarah Ensor of Baltimore Co. dtd 20 Aug 1845 (daughter of George Ensor and Jemima Bond) In the name of God Amen, I Sarah Ensor of Baltiore County in the State of Maryland being in perfect Health and of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding thanks be to Almighty God for the same do make this my last will and testamentin mannor and form following. First and principally I give my Soul to God who gave it and my body I commit to the Earth to be buried in a christian like manner by my Executor hereafter named and as to my worldly estate which God hath given me. I give and dispose of the same in the following manner to wit. Item. I give and bequeath my farm and all the improvements thereon situated and lying in Baltimore Co., adjoining the farm of Jonathan Scott and Abraham Cole containing Twenty nine Acres of Land more or less unto my nephew John Chilcoat during his natural life by his paying unto my Executor hereinafter named the sum of Four Hundred Dollars current money One hundred of it in one year and the balance of it in Three years: after my decease and after his decease then I give and bequeath the said farm unto Ensor Chilcoat son of the said John Chilcoat, his heirs and assigns for ever but if said Ensor Chilcoat should die without heirs by his body lawfdully begotten then I give and bequeath said farm and the improvements theron to Elijah Chilcoat Brother of said Ensor Chilcoat his heirs and assigns foreever. Item. I give and bequeath unto my niece Sarah Stilts One hundred dollars of the money to be paid by the said John Chilcoat. Item. I give and bequeath unto Mary Elizabeth Ensor daughter of my nephew and niece Darby Ensor and Elleanor Ensor Two hundred dollars and the balance of one hundred dollars. Item. I give and bequeath unto Sarah Ann Ensor, daughter of the above Darby Ensor and Ellenor Ensor to be collected by my executor and but out to Interest on bond with good securities and paid by him to the said Mary Elizabeth Ensor and Sarah Ann Ensor when they shall arrive at the age of Eighteen years. It is my wish and desire that the said Sarah Stills shall receive her legacy as soon as convienent after one year from my decease therefore if the said John Chilcoat should refuse to take the farm on the considitions above mentioned, I will and bequeath that my executor shall resnt the same to a tenant or tenants for such a length of time as will amount to the three legacies and all the rest and residue of my Estate I give and bequeath unto my nephew and Niece Darby Ensor and Elleanor Ensor their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly I do hereby consistute and appoint my said nephew Darby Ensor Executor of this my last Will and testament dissn nulling every other and former will made by me ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last Will and Testament In Testimony Whereof I have here unto set my hand and affixed my Seal this twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand and eight hundred and fourty five. Sarah (her X mark) Ensor Signed Sealed published and declared by Sarah Ensor the above named testatrix as and for her last Will and testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witness thereto: Jesse Scott Jr, Caleb Tovell, Charles N. Jesop. Baltimore County for On the 15th day of May 1852 came Caleb Tovell and Charles N. Jesops two of the subscribing Witness to the aforegoing last Will and Testament Sarah Ensor, late of Baltimore County and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that they did see the Testator sign and seal this will that they heard her publish pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and testament that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehension of sound and dispossing mind memory and understanding and that they together with Jepe Scott Jr. the other subscribing witness thereto subscribed their names as Witnesses to this Will in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other.
