These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ************************************************************************ Last Will and Testament of Michael Hains Signed 1 Sep 1779 - Proved 10 Oct 1779 In the name of God Amen I Michael Hains of Baltimore County and State of Maryland being sick and weak of body but of sound memory and reason do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as following: Impromise after my lawful debts are paid and my lawful wife Catherine Hains having the third part of my real and personal estate the remainder to be as follows. Item. I give and bequeath to my six sons all my land to be equally divided between them their heirs and assigns forever. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Hains one cow and calf one ewe and lamb one bed and furniture. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter Dorothy Hains one cow and calf one ewe and lamb- one bed and furniture. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Daniel Hains one horse called Polly. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Henry Hains one mare and colt. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Michael Hains my cold hat and cold great coat my yellow cloth jacket and breaches. Item. I leave the reaminder of my Estate to be sold at Public vendue and the money to be equally divided between my six sons and four daughters. Item. I nominate and appoint my wife and two sons John Hains and Daniel Hains the whole Excutore of this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this first day of September A.D. one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine. his Michael H. County: On the 10th day of October 1779 came William Hamilton and Thomas Millard subscribing evidence to the within last Will and Testament of Michael Hains late of the said County deceased and made Oath on the Holy Evangile of Almighty God that they saw the testator sign and seal and heard him publish and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding at the time of doing thereof and that they severally subscribed thier names as to declare thereto in the presence of the Testator at his request in the presence of each other.
