Will of Margaret Harvey of Baltimore County,
Dated 27 Jan 1786; proved 24 Nov 1789 

In the Name of God Amen. I Margaret Harvey of Baltimore County in the State of 
Maryland being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding 
praised be almighty God for the same I do hereby make & publish this my Last will and 
Testament in manner & form following to wit, that is to say first and principally I 
commend my soul into the hands of God my Creator my Body I commit to the Earth to be 
decently buried. I desire and appoint that all such just debts that I shall owe at the time of 
my decease together with all my funeral Expenses shall be first fully Satisfied and paid.

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Pricilla Harvey one feather Bed with a 
white tick one Bolster two pillows one blanket one pair of Sheets and two pillow Cases 
one Six Gallon pott and one negro man named Hazard and one negro Boy named Jack.

Item I give devise and Bequeath unto Abarilla Harvey one feather Bed one pair of Sheets 
one Blanket one rug two pillows and Cases one negro Girl named Nell one Light Crape 
Gown one Black Durand petticoat 1 striped Cotton gown one three gallon pot one woolen 
wheel and Cards and one Cow.

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Daughter Rachel Harvey one feather Bed two 
1/3 baskets one rug one pair of Sheets two pillows and Cases and one negro boy named 
Toney one ten Gallon pot one Black Crape Gown two Callemanco quilted petticoats one 
Striped Cotton Gown one Chest wherein I keep my Claoths one cherry tree Table one 
Box Iron & heaters one pair of Callimanco Shoes one C....? and one Cow and Calf. 

I also give and bequeath unto my said three duaghters Pricilla Harvey Abarila Harvey and 
Rachel Harvey one negro woman named Hannah and her Increase to be Equally divided 
Between them shear & Shear alike And all the rest and Residue of my Estate of whatkind 
or nature soever or wheresoever I give and Bequeath unto my said three dauthers Pricilla 
Harvey Abarilla Harvey and Rachel Harvey to be Equally Divided between them Shear 
and Shear alike. My will and desire is that there may be no Administration on my Estate 
any Law usage or Custom to the Contrary notwithstanding. I Hereby Constitute and 
appoint my son William Harvey and my friend Edward Cockey to see this my last will 
Executed according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and to appraise and divide my 
Estate between my three daughters. In Witness whereof I the said Margaret Harvey to my 
last will Testament have sett my hand and Affixed my seal this twenty seventh day of 
January in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Eighty Six.......

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Margaret Harvey for and as her Last 
will and Testament in the presence of us who have Subscribed our names as witnesses in 
her presence.

the fourth and fifth Line from the Bottom being first Interlined before signed.

Baltimore County to wit. On the 24th day of November 1789 Came Edward Cockey 
Daniel Isgrig and Darby Burk Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing Last will and 
Testament of Margaret Harvey late of said County deceased and made Oath {symbol} that 
they did See the Testatrix sign and seal this will that they heard her publish pronounce and 
declare the same to be her Last will and Testament that at the time of her sodoing she was 
to the best of their apprehensions of sound disposing mind memory and Understanding 
that they Subscribed their names as Witnesses to this will in her presence at her request 
and in the presence of each other. Sworn before me register of wills for the County 
aforesaid.
