A formatted version can be Viewed at http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/baltimore/wills/howard-jo.pdf Joanna (O’Carroll) Howard (d1762) Will Baltimore County Maryland Maryland Hall of Records Will Book DD1, folio 933 (SR 4425-2, p. 933) Written 12 April 1762 Probate 8 June 1763 In the Name of God Amen I Joanna Howard of St. Thomas’s parish in the County of Baltimore in the province of Maryland Widow being weak and feeble in Body but of sound mind and Memory Do hereby make and declare my last Will and Testament as followeth First I Commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator my Body I Committ to the Earth to be decently Buried by my Executor hereafter Named Item all my Goods Chattles and Estate of what Nature kind or Quality so ever and wheresoever after my Just Debts and funeral Expenses shall be fully paid and Satisfied I Give devise and bequeath unto my loving Son Cornelius Howard of Baltimore County aforesaid his heirs Executors and Admtors as his and their Goods Chattles and Estate for ever And I nominate and Appoint my said Son Cornelius Howard Sole Executor of this my Will hereby revoking Disannulling and making Void all former and other Wills bequests and Legacys by me at any time heretofore made bequeathed or given and do make and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Joanna Howard the Testatrix have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 12 day of April Anno Domini One thousand seven hundred and Sixty two Joanna (her mark) Howard (Seal) Signed Sealed published Declared and delivered by the within names Joanna Howard the Testatrix for and as her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses in her presence Sam{l} Owings John Ford G Bramwell June 8{th} 1763 Came Messr{es} Samuel Owings and John Ford two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within will and made Oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that they saw the Testatrix Sign the said Will and heard her publish and Declare the same to be her last Will and Testament that at the time of here doing she was to the best of their Apprenhensions of Sound and Disposing mind and Memory that they both Subscribed their respective Names as Witnesses to the Will all in the presence of the said Testratrix and at her request Sworn before W{m} Young Deptity Comry Baltimore County The Executor hath promised to take out Letters very Shortly before the Will was proved 4 ½ ?
