Last Will and Testament of Caleb Peddicord of Baltimore County
dated 31 Jan 1859, proved 28 Feb 1860 

In the name of God, Amen, I Caleb Peddicord of Baltimore county in the state of 
Maryland being feeble in body and of sound and disposing mind, memory, and 
understanding desirous of settle any worldly affairs in view of the uncertainty 
of human life, do make publish and declare this as and for my last Will and 
testament that is to say, 

First, I commit my Soul to Almightly God and my body to the Earth to be decently 
buried according to the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named. And after 
the payment of my debts, I dispose of my estate in the following manner, 

I will and bequeath my whole Estate real, personal and mixed to my beloved wife 
Elizabeth Peddicord for and during her natural life, and from and after her 
death, I will to my son Joseph, his maintenance out of my real estate so long as 
he shall live, and at death to be decently buried our of the same. I also give 
after the death of my wife to the rest of my children their heirs and assigns 
forever, all the remainder of my real Estate share and share about which shall 
be equally divided. I also reserve the grave yard with one quarter of an acre 
attachthereto together with a road from the same to the public highway for the 
use of my family and friends as a burying place, And lastly I hereby constitute 
and appoint my son Evan the sole Executor of this my last Will and testament 
revoking and annulling all former Wills by me heretofore made and confirming 
this and none other to be my last Will and testament. 

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this third 
first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand and Eight Hundred and 
fifty nine.

in the presence of us and at his request and in his 
presence and in the presence of each other have 
subscribed our names as witnesses hereto:

Baltimore County SS On this 28th day of February 1860 came James Spencer one of 
the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and Testament of Caleb 
Peddicordlate of said county, deceased and made oath on the Holy Evangely of 
Almighty God that he did see the testator Sign and Seal this Will that he heard 
him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his Last Will and testament 
that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of his apprehension of sound 
and disposing mind, memory, and understanding. And that together with Williaim 
Lewis and Benjamin Zimmerman subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in 
his presence at his requrest and in the presence of each other.
