I give and bequeath to my excellant wife Margaret Reese all my property with the exceptions mentioned below and I assign to her also all my rights and claim tothe small farm leased from James M. Lester and wife. My books are to be divided equally among our sons and daughters, my wife to reserve any she may want for herself. Our son John J.[?] Reese to have all my manuscript papers except the Masonic and he is also to have the gold framed spectacles. My Masonic paers I give to myson William S. Reese. I give my Watch to our son Gideon D. Reese. I have but little earthly treasure to leave my dear wife and children. I pray that the providence of God may aid them in their efforts to provide for themselves and families. I have reason to hope and believe that I have, by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ laid up treasure in Heaven. I do most ardently desire that all our dear children may be more careful to lay up treasure in Heaven than on earth and that they and their parants may ultimately join each other and be an undivided family in Heaven forever.
