A formatted version can be Viewed at http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/baltimore/wills/shipley-r.pdf Richard Shipley (d1725) Will Prerogative Court Baltimore County, Maryland Maryland Hall of Records Liber 18, folio 397 (Microfilm SR 4412) Written 5 October 1724 Proved 24 August 1725 In the Name of God Amen I Richard Shipley of Baltimore County in the province of Maryland planter being weak of body but of sound and perfect mind & memory thanks be to Allmighty God for the same but calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing the uncertainty of this present Life doe Make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament In Manner and form following First and principally I commit my Soul unto the hands of Allmighty God who gave itt me my body to the Earth from whence itt came to be Buryed in decent Christian manner as my Ext{xs} hereafter named shall think fitt Nothing doubting but att the Generall resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God – And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith itt hath pleased Allmighty God to bless me with in this Life. I give and bequeath and Dispose the same in manner and forme following: Item: I Give and Bequeath unto my four sons namely Adam, Richard, Samuel and Peter Shipley and their Heirs for Ever my plantation being part of a Tract called Adam the first to be Equally devided between my four said sons after their Mothers decease when the first comes to the Age of Twenty one years And that they shall be obliged to dispose of their parts to their 3 brothers if itt should not consist with Either of their Inclinations to Reside thereon and to noe other person whatsoever And in case of my said sons should Depart this life before they come to the Age of twenty one years then my said Lands to be Equally devided between the surviving brothers for those of them and their Heirs for Ever Item: I Give and Bequeath unto my daughter Louis Shipley and her Heirs for Ever twenty five acres of Land out of my part of a tract of Land called the Brothers partnership to be Laid out on that part next to the Horse head of Talbotts Resolution Manner within these Courses of the partnership N d/5 ?
