October 1868) Be it remebered that I Abraham Slade of Baltimore County and State of Maryland being weak in bodybut of sound and disposing mine Memory and Understanding knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First and principally I committ my soul into the hands of Almighty God and My body to the earth to be decently buryed and aft my debts and funeral charges are paid and my wife's thirds when out. I devise and bequeath as follows: I will and bequeath unto my loving wife Ann Slade all my household property except what may be hereafter disposed of Item I will and devise unto my son John Slade the plantation which he now resides on and part of McClungs Inheritance where I have divided it and which will be ore fully Shown by my son Thomas and Josias Slade Also all the stock and farming utensils belonging to thesaid place to him the said John Slade his heirs and assigns forever by paying unto my daughter Ariel Slade Six Hundred dollars, five years after my decease. the Oxen and Wagon whichis in the possession and in use by by my sons John and Christopher Slade to be equally divided in value between them. I give and devise unto my son Christopher Slade the place he now resides on with the residue of McClung's Inheristance the stock and farming utensils belonging to said place to himm his heirs and assigns for ever by his paying unto My daughter Elizabeth Slade Six Hundred dollars five years after my decease. I will and devise unto my son Abraham Slade part of three lots of land known by the name of Mount Joy and part of Talbotts Hall the lines and marks of which I have herefore Shown unto my five sons also unto Joseph Sutton and Lee Corbit also all the stock which is in his possession to him the said Abraham Slade his heirs and assigns foreever by him paying unto my daughter Ariel Slade one hundred dollars three years after my decease. I will and devise unto my son Thomas Slade that part of Talbott's Hall whereon I now reside ppart of Mount Joy and part of S----- Delight The marks and lines of which I have heretofore Shown unto my five sons also to Joseph Sutton and Lee Corbit by his paying unto my daughter Ann Perdue Six Hundred dollars five years after my decease and unto my daughter Elizabeth Slade two hundred dollars five years after my decease, and ..............(the remainder was not copied by the extractor).
