Will of Benjamin Zimmerman of Baltimore Co., dtd. 22 June 1887


I Benjamin Zimmmerman of Baltimore County, being in health of body and of sound 
disposing mind, memory, and understanding and considering the certainty of death and the 
uncertainty to of the time thereof and be tge better prepared to leave this world when it 
shall please God to call me hence, do therefore make and publish this my last Will and 
Testamment to Wit: That after my body is decently buried and all my just debts are paid.

1st First. I Will and bequeath to my dear Wife Caroline Zimmerman, should she survive 
me, All of my Real and personal property during her natural life and at her death,

2nd Sed I Will and bequeath to my son George R. Zimmerman the Fram on which he now 
resides in Annarundel County.

3rd I Will and bequeath to my son John E. Zimmerman the Fram on which he now resides 
on both sides of Rolling Road

4th I will and bequeath to my daughter Annie E. Riddle the house and lot where she now 
resides and also I will to my daughter Annie E, Riddle, the Fram joining to the aforesaid 
house and lot.

5th And I also will and bequeath to my son George R. Zimmerman a house and two and 
one fourth (2-1/4) acres of land situated on the new-cut Winsor Mill Road opposite the 
property of Thomas N. Reid.

6th And I also will and bequeath to my son John E. Zimmerman all my interest in the field 
known as the Barrack Field and adjoining the farm which I now reside, and on the Rolling 
Road.

7th I will and bequeath to my son Benjamin Franklin Lee Zimmerman the Farm on which I 
now reside known as the old Zimmerman homestead with all the personal property on siad 
farm and all my interest in the house & lot deeded to me and my wife Caroline by George 
Widerman Sr. and (father of my wife).

8th And should there be any Money Mortgage Notes or other security belonging to my 
estate at my death, I desire that after all my debts is paid that so soon as practical the same 
so be converted into money and equally divided between my dear wife Caroline and my 
three sons to wit: George R, John E., and Benjamin F. L. Zimmerman share and share 
alike, And I do therefore appoint my dear wife Caroline and my dear son John E. 
Zimmerman Executors.

In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of June in the 
Year of our Lord One Thousand and eight hundred and Eighty Seven as my last will and 
testament

Test: Persoanlly appeared Luther Timanus, Will E. Upton, Charles W. Widerman at his 
request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as 
witnesses thereto:

SS: On the 16th day of March 1892 came Luther Timanus, William E. Upton, and Charles 
W. Widerman, subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Last Will and Testament of 
Benjamin Zimmerman, late of said county, deceased, and made oath on the Holy Evangely 
of Almighty God that they did see the Testator sign and seal this will, that they heard him 
publish, pronounce, declare the same to be his last will and Testatment and that at the time 
of his so doing he was to the best apprehension of sound and disposing mind, memory, 
and understanding and that they subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in his 
presence and the presence of each other. Sworn to in OPen Court, Test: Benjamin W. 
Ady, Register of Wills for Baltimore County. 

CODICIL: This Codicil made this 15th day of April 1890 by Benjamin Zimmerman of 
Baltimore County and State of Maryland whereas it being manefest that there is two tracts 
of land belonging to the within testaor and ajoining the Zimmerman Homestead and that 
they be more fully described and included in item 7th the bequest to my son Benjamin 
Franklin Lee Zimmerman to Wit No. 1 tract called Stinchcombs Park Containing 7 acres 3 
Rods and twenty square perches of land received for Recording 9th day of October 1855. 
No. 2 Called Stinchcombs Park Containing 24 acres of Land and received for Recorded 
4th day September 1860.

Item 9th, Now be it understood that my son Benjamin Franklin Lee Zimmerman shall have 
a life Estate only in the Zimmerman Homestead and at his death to his heirs absolutely, 
should he die without issue then to be equally divided between his brothers and their heirs 
and assigns, the aforesaid 2 tracts of land is not restircted only to the Zimmerman 
Homestead.

Item 10th I dont wish my dear wife Caroline to Give Bond as one of my executors.15 
April 1890 as being Codicil to this my last will and testament.
