He married a woman named Elinor. He was given a land grant by Lord Baltimore of 100 acres. It was located in Maryland and was named Tye's Delight. In 1717 he rented land from Lord Baltimore. By virtue of a warrant granted unto John TYE of Baltimore County of his Lordships Land Office bearing date the 19 July 1717 for 100 acres of land as appears these are therefore to certify that I have laid out for the said John TYE a parcel of land called TYE'S DELIGHT laying back of the Garrison Ridge in the County a foresaid and near a branch called the Water Spout Branch beginning at abounded red Oak and an abounded Chestnut Tree standing on a hill and running North seventy five degrees. East one hundred and forty poles thence north twenty four degrees. West one hundred twenty poles there south seventy five degrees. West one hundred twenty four poles thence with a straight line to the aforesaid Oak and Chestnut Trees containing and now laid out for one hundred acres of land more or less to behold of the Map of Baltimore.
