After paying all my just debt and funeral expenses, I give, devise and bequeath as follows:- First: I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved daughter, Emma M. Aspelmeier wife of Frederick Z. Aspelmeier, the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) absolutely. Second: I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved son George E. H. Altpeter, the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) absolutely. I also give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved son, George E. H. Altpeter, all my furniture goods and chattels now located in my home. Third: I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved granddaughter, Caroline Schneider, being the daughter of my deceased child Elizabeth W. Schneider, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) absolutely. Fourth: I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved step – daughter Caroline Nunner, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) if she is living at the time of my death; in case she dies before I do the Five Hundred Dollars ($500) I give, devise and bequeath to her four children; Helen Nunner, Gertrude Nunner, Caroline Nunner and Elizabeth Nunner, to be equally divided between them share and share alike. Fifth: I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved step – son Philip F. Altpeter the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) absolutely. Sixth: I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved grandson Henry A. Altpeter, son of George E. H. Altpeter, my watch. Seventh: I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved daughter and son, Emma M. Aspelmeier and George E. H. Altpeter all the rest and residue of my property, real, personal and mixed, and wherever situate or found absolutely, to be equally divided between them. Eighth: If any one, or more of the above Legatees contest this Will, it is my wish that his or her share shall be annulled, and considered null and void, and the said share or shares of said Legatee or Legatees, shall be equally divided between my daughter and son, Emma M. Aspelmeier and George E. H. Altpeter mentioned in this my Last Will and Testament. Ninth: I constitute and appoint my beloved son George E. H. Altpeter, to be the executor of this my Last Will and Testament with full and absolute power to sell [This part of the will did not continue] In Testimony Whereof: I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this 10th day of October in the year nineteen hundred and seventeen. Amelia Altpeter -Seal- Signed, Sealed, Published and Declared by Amelia Altpeter, the above named Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament, in the presence of us and each of us, who at her request, in her presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto. Kathryn Delcher William Duncan Baltimore City S S: On the 11th day of July, 1919 came George E. H. Altpeter and made oath in due form of law: that he does not know of any Will or Codicil of Amelia Altpeter, late of said City, deceased, other than the above instrument of writing and that he received this Will from the Testatrix and retained same to this time. ???? parties notified; And that Testatrix departed this life on the 20th day of June 1919. Sworn to in open Court Test: Howard W. Jackson Register of Wills for Baltimore City Baltimore City S S: On the 11th day of July 1919, came Kathryn Delcher and William Duncan the two subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and Testament of Amelia Altpeter late of said City, deceased, and made oath in due form of law, that they did see Testrix sign and seal this Will; that they heard her publish, pronounce and declare the same to be her last Will and Testament; that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind, memory, understanding; and that they subscribed their names as witnesses to this Will in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other. Sworn to the former before the Subscriber the latter in open court. Test: Howard W. Jackson Register of Wills for Baltimore City On the Orphans Court of Baltimore City The Court, after having carefully examined the above last Willand Testament of Amelia Altpeter late of Baltimore City, deceased and also the evidence adduced to its validity Orders and Decrees this 11th day of July 1919, That the same be admitted in this Court as the true and genuine last Will and Testament of the said Amelia Altpeter, deceased.
