That is to say, after the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses, I give, devise, and bequeath all my property and estate of every kind and description and wheresoever situate of which I may be seized or possessed at the time of my death, whether real, personal, or mized unto my beloved wife Matilde L. Scharrer, to be held by her for and during her natural life, so that she may have use and enjoy the same with power to her to sell and convey absolutely, or by way of mortgage or lease any or all of my above saide estate and remit the proceeds thereof in her own discretion and from and after the death of my said wife, then to go to my two children, Charles John Scharrer and Pauline M. C. Kattenkamp, share and share alike absolutely. I constitute and appoint William A. Lenz to be executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other Wills and Codicils by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this twenty eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two. John G. Scharrer (seal)
