Do certify that during the last week whilst Major William Wilson of the United States Army was laying dangerously ill at the house of Mrs. Mary Abernathy in Bath, Morgan County, State of Virginia he was waited on by us (no relation being present) and being then perfectly I his senses was informed of his low and dangerous situation and suggested the propriety of his making some arrangements as to the distribution of his property in the event of his death, he observed that he had money in the Branch Bank of Baltimore and in the Bank of Charleston and that he had property in Florid, but declined committing any thing to writing aledging that a soldiers Will verbally made would be sufficient and said “ it is my wish that my Sister Eliza shall have all my property or principally so understanding from his words and manner that his Sister Eliza was to have all property with the exception of some trifle Keepsake. We also certify that in our opinion Major Wilson was not in a state of body or mind to make any other Will from the time the conversation stated above took place until his death which took place on the night of the fifteenth of September 1825 as I believe.
