In the name of God amen I Margarit Smith of Calvert Co. being sick and weak in body and of sound mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and forms following: First of all I give and bequeath unto my son James Marquess my negro woman Jinney and her child Nan allso my negro Garl Mol and there increas to him and his Heirs or assigns forever. Also I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Wilkonson Marquess my bed and Furniture that I useenly sleap on. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Turner my negro Boy Dack and no moar to hur and hur Heirs and assigns for ever. Also I give and bequeath unto my son William Marquess three pounds current mony and no moar. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Stevens four pounds Current money and no moars. My will is that my Negroes Susey and Sam shall be sold at Publick Sale by my Executors. Also I give and bequeath unto my son Kid Marquess three pounds Current money and no mores. Also I give and bequeath unto my son James Marquess Thirty Pounds Current money in consideration of his paying of sometine ago to Mr. Thomas Reynolds and taken in my bond. Also I give and bequeath unto my son John Marquess the remainder of the money that the said negroes Susey and Sam sels for after the money Segeses taken out and paid also all the remainder of my estate to him and his Heirs and assigns for ever. And thereby nominate and appoint my sons John Marquess and James Marquess Executors of this my last will and testament. The words (my negro woman) in the fifh line was interlined before sined the words (of his paying) in the twenty second line was dashed out before sined. William Dare Sen. Margarit Smith mark Job Hunt Robert Peters Signed sealed published and delivered by the aforenamed Margaret Smith as and for her last will and testament in the presence of the subscribers witnesses to this will in the presence of the said testator and in the presence of each other. Calvert Co. Feb. 8th 1774 Came William Dare Sen. Job Hunt and Robert Peters subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will and made oath on the Holy Evengelist of almighty God that they saw the testator Margarit Smith sign the foregoing will and heard her publish and declare the same to be her last will and testiment and at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehension of sound disposing mind and memory and that they signed their respective names as evidence to this forgoing will in the presence of the testator and at her request and in the presence of each other and they further swear that words that is interlined and dashed out was done before the testator signed this will.
