Baker, well known farmer, of near Hillsboro, Caroline county, died suddenly last Friday at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, where she underwent an operation. She was fifty four years old. Mrs. Baker was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, and was a daughter of the late Simon and Araminta Livingood. She spent her early life in Pennsylvania. About twenty-five years ago with her family she moved to Lewistown, Talbot county and later to Hillsboro, where Mr. Baker engaged in farming and they have since made their home. She was a devout member of the Brethren Church of Ridgely. The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Vachel A. Downes, of Centreville, and three sons, Claude G. Baker, Vernon Baker and Billy Baker, of Hillsboro. She also leaves several grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters also survive - Samuel Livingood, of Myersdale, Pa.; Hobart Livingood, of Swanton, Maryland; Harvey Livingood, of Lockwood, Pa.; Mrs. Emma Folk and Mrs. Nannie Engle, of Saulsbury, Pa.; Mrs. Etta Beachy and Mrs Fannie Folk, of Grantsville, Maryland; Mrs. Savannah Folk, of Fort Hill, Pa.; Mrs. Edna Whissaman, of Pittsburg, Pa.; and Mrs. Mary Engle, of Warren, Ohio. The remains were brought to Centreville for interment in Chesterfield Cemetery. The pall-bearers were Alvin Baker and Gurney Baker, of Bridgeville, Del.; S.S. Baker of Wyoming, Del.; Harry Spiker, of Greenwood, Del.; John Folk, of Grantsville, Md.; and Floyd Folk, of Saulsbury, Pa."
