Will of Sarah M. Downes of Caroline County, MD  JBS:1:382
To dau. Clara Downes of Caroline County, house and lot situate and being in town of
Denton on third street which I purchased of Emmett Downes and wife by deed dated on
the 10th day of Jan 1889.
 
To dau. Clara rest and residue of my estate.
 
Lastly, request that my children shall all contribute and cause to be erected at my grave
proper a suitable tombstone.

Witnesses: Abraham R. Wright, James Swann, L. (N.?) Gadd
 
- - Feb 1889 - date signed
5th Feb 1895: J. Dukes Downes, the custodian of the will, makes oath - names Clara
Downes as his aunt.
5th Feb 1895: Philip W. Downes, Reyner B. Downes, Stephen R. Downes, Joseph E.
Wilson, Mrs. John Wilson, Eldridge Downes, Mrs. Dock Downes acknowledge that the
aforegoing will would be offered for probate this day without cause to the contrary.
12 Feb 1895:  Witnesses Abraham R. Wright, James Swann and L. - -  Gadd make oath to
the validity of the will.
