It was good to get a letter from you. So you want to know something of my childhood. Well, I was born on a 250 acre farm, that had been in our family for over two hundred years. The Stansbury family, Stansbury was my name, before I married Harry Cann. We had lots of cows, horses, pigs and chickens on our farm, and when I think of chickens, I think of my father. He told me to feed the little chickens that were in little cages a little distance from the house, and when I could go out in the morning to feed the little chickens, my father had already been at the cage and would drop pennies along the way for me to pick up as I would go to feed the chickens. I had three brothers and two sisters older than I, and my brother Ben was only three years older, and we used to play together. My mother used to take me to church with her on Sunday, and we would meet a very good friend of mother's by the name of Mrs. Wooden, and Mrs. Wooden had two daughters about my age, and every Sunday, Mrs. Wooden and one of her girls would come home with us and spend the day and the next Sunday Mother and I would to Mrs. Woodens and spend the day. And the Woodens and our family were good friends as long as they lived. My mother and all of the Woodens have gone to their Heavenly home, and I am left to tell you about it. At the age of eleven we all moved to Hampstead and I lived there until I married. Lots of love from your Great Grandma This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/mdfiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb This file is located at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/md/carroll/history/family/cann-aws.txt
