He was the husband of Ethel M. Rose Fuld. He was born January 20, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany, the son of the late Jacob and late Nanette Zion Fuld. Mr. Fuld worked for CSX Railway as a fireman and engineer. He was a Navy veteran of W.W.II. He was a member of Freedom Optimist where he served on numerous boards. Bergmann, 76, of Mount Airy, formerly of Gaithersburg, died , Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at his home in Mount Airy. He was the husband of Thelma Mae Golliday Bergmann. He was born December 31, 1926 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Ferdinand H. Bergmann and late Annie E. White Bergmann. He was co-owner of Bergman's Cleaners in Arlington Va. He was a member of Silver Spring Masonic Lodge # 215 A.F & A. M. Survivors, besides his wife include three sons, Milton Ronald Bergman of Westminster, Richard Warren Bergmann of Beltsville and William Allen Bergmann of Shady Side, Md.; a daughter, Janet Ann Connor of College Park; two step-sons, Daniel Joseph Prior of Silver Spring and David Forest Prior of Salisbury, Md.; a step-daughter, Christine Lynn Speak of Frederick; 9 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. Sweeney Clymer, 84, of Sykesville died, Saturday May 31, 2003, at Golden Age Guest Home, Sykesville. She was the wife of the late Rev. William C. Clymer who was pastor of 1st Baptist Church of Havre de Grace for 20 years. Mrs. Clymer was born May 19, 1919, in Clifton Heights, Pa., the daughter of the late James Sweeney and the late Anna Taylor Sweeney. Mrs. Clymer was a homemaker, taught Sunday school for over 50 years and was very active at Elders Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Grayson of Jacksonville, Florida; a son, Daniel C. Clymer of Sykesville; three sisters, Anna Sweeney of Philadelphia, Betty Lobley of Philadelphia and Bernice King of Elkhart, Indiana; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were conducted on June 3, 2003, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, Winfield, with the Rev. James Edmonson officiating. Interment is at Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, Pa. Jane R. Prince Jane R. Price, 78, of Sykesville, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center, Hanover, Pa. Born on July 8, 1924, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Elsie E. Myers Ross. She was the wife of Martin Prince of Sykesville. In 1986, Mrs. Price retired from the Westinghouse Corporation where she had been a supervisor. She had been a leader of Girl Scout, Troop #497 from 1961-87 and a Den Mother for Pack #716 in the Cub Scouts. She was a former choir director of Flohrville United Methodist Church and had been active with the UMYF there. She was a former employee of Springfield Hospital Center. She enjoyed trips to Chincoteague and Bethany Beach, roller skating and ceramics. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jonathan C. Prince of Marriottsville and Wesley M. Prince of Sykesville; a daughter, Karen M. Diggins of Pittsford, Vermont; a sister, Virginia Wolf of Westminster, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, Betty L. Interment is in Springfield Cemetery, Sykesville. Tamiko Egan Tamiko "Tami" Egan, 70, of Sykesville, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at her home. She was born November 1, 1932, in Japan. She moved to the United States with her first child in 1958. She located to Bensalem, Pa., where she lived most of her life. She became known as "Peggy" to her friends in Bensalem and at her church, Lady of Fatima where she was active in the organizing of the church dinners. In her later years she came to Memphis, Tenn., to live with her eldest daughter's family. They relocated to Sykesville in 2001. She had been a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed attending the South Carroll Senior Center. Surviving are son Ricky Curlett of Bensalem, Pa., daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jack Dietz of Sykesville, Marie Falcone of Perkasie, Pa., and Donna and Jason Levine of Phoenixville, Pa., and 5 grandchildren. She had been a secretary with Kirmo Laundry for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II (1944-1946). He had shown pigs at the Frederick County Fair for many years in addition to having served as a former treasurer of the Maryland Pork Producers Association. He had been a superintendent for the Maryland State Fair, Swine Department, and had served on the Howard County Fair Board. He enjoyed dabbling in antiques. She was a retired schoolteacher for the Carroll County Public School System. She was a member of White Rock United Methodist Church in Sykesville, and was the church secretary and organist and was president of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was on the Board of Trustees for Carroll Community College. She received an Honorary Doctorate degree conferred by the President of Carroll Community College, Survivors include her daughter and son, Edna F. Dotson and Lionel O. Dotson both of Sykesville. She was very compassionate and giving to her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by everyone. Born June 1, 1925, in Howard County, Md., he was the son of the late Samuel B and Ella Augusta Leatherwood Ripley. Mr. Ripley was retired from Springfield State Hospital. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy on the SS John B. Lennon. Mr. Ripley was a Life Member of both the American Legion Gold Star Post 191, Mt. Airy, and The Westminster Elks Club #2277. Born on August 6, 1942, in Woodstock, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Louis Washington and India Mae Beach Jenkins. She was the wife of the late Harry Schaefer. She earned her GED in California, and worked in the environmental services field for several years. She then acquired a certificate as a dietary aide from Howard Community College, and worked in the dietary field for many more years, before becoming disabled. Surviving are sisters, Roberta Blair Esther Garver, Darlene Johnson, Margaret Redmond, and Dorothy Spinks, and brothers: Michael, Paul and Richard Jenkins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Johnson; a sister, Sandra Justice; and brothers, David and Randolph Jenkins. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice. Herbert H. Sullivan Herbert Henry Sullivan, 79, of Glenelg, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at his home. Born June 7, 1924, in West Friendship, he was the son of the late Henry Columbus Sullivan and the late Nettie Mae Mullinix Sullivan. He was the husband of Mary Jane Rippeon Sullivan, his wife of 54 years. A lifelong resident of Howard County, he attended the West Friendship Elementary School and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1941. He was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps combat veteran, having served as a radio operator/gunner on B-17 bombers with the 8th Air Force based in England. At war's end, his squadron flew many POW liberation missions. He was employed by the International Harvester Company in Baltimore for 20 years. Later, Mr. Sullivan was a constable for the District Court of Maryland for Howard County, formerly the People's Court of Howard County. After a 22-year tenure with Howard County and the State of Maryland, he retired in 1988. Following his retirement, he devoted most of his time to improving and maintaining the family home and farmland. Since 1937 he was a member of Westwood Methodist Church which later became Glenelg United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter Kimberlie J. Sullivan of Glenelg; son and daughter-in-law, H. Hanson and Barbara Sullivan of Glenelg; grandchildren, Michael, Samantha and Shannen Sullivan, all of Glenelg, and sister, Blanche Slagle of Catonsville. He was predeceased by his siblings, Stanley E. Sullivan, Rosalie Oland, Edith Shipley and Gladys Sullivan. Funeral services were heldJune 17, 2003, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville. Williams, Jr., 75, of Westminster, died Monday June 16, 2003, at his home. Born March 9, 1928, in Roland Park, Maryland, he was the oldest of eight sons born to the late Irvin W. Williams, Sr. and the late Gladys C. Deaver Williams. He was a member of the St. Peter Claver Parish from the time he was a child through adulthood. He was a product of the Baltimore City Public Schools and joined the Navy at the age of 18. As a result of Irvin's first marriage he was graced with three sons, Steven, Donald, and Jeffrey (who preceded him in death). He later married Jacobine Helene Buchkremer Williams in 1970. and this marriage brought to him his fourth son, Marlin. He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years of service. Irvin leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Jacobine; three sons, Steven and his wife, Donald, and Marlin; 6 brothers, Vernon, Ronald, Iglehart, Michael, Lawrence, Sarsfield and their wives, as well as a half brother, Wesley; and two half sisters, Jean and Gail, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and brother in law Alfred and his wife Helga and son Rolf and his wife Kirsten from Germany. He was the husband of Colette Henriette. Born June 26, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Tomchak Bubbins. Mr. Bubbins served his country in Korea as a soldier in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and was the former owner of Movies to Go and Fast Mail in Mount Airy. He graduated from Henderson University, AK, with a major in accounting and minors in economics, math, and English in 1965. He also earned an M.B.A. from Syracuse University, NY, with a major in finance and a minor in accounting in 1996. He especially loved gardening. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Joseph Jackson, Max Bubbins, Juli Bubbins, and David Bubbins; three step-children, Fran Inman of Martinsburg, W. Virginia; Jean Marc Henriette of College Park; and Marie Claire of Fredericksburg, Virginia. There are also two grandchildren and six step- grandchildren. Four siblings: Harry Bubbins of Yonkers, New York; and John Bubbins, Jim Bubbins, and Victoria Dixon, all of Amsterdam, New York. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 27 at 11 a.m. in the small church at St. Michael's Catholic Church at Poplar Springs, 1125 St. Michael's Road, Mount Airy. He was born April 5, 1925m in Woodbine, the son of the late Oscar Norman and late Effie Bell Greene Justice. Mr. Justice was a self-employed carpenter and in more recent years he sold fresh produce and flowers. Francis Pickett Sr. Francis " Frank" Madison Pickett, Sr., 88, of Woodbine, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Continuum Care in Sykesville, Md. He was born May 20, 1915, in Woodbine, the son of the late Beulah Pickett and the late Elsie Mae Chaney Pickett. He was the husband of 63 years of Dorothy Louise Criswell Pickett. He was a retired postmaster in Woodbine for 26 years and retired July 31, 1976. He was a self-employed master plumber. He owned and operated Southern States store at Pickett's Corner. He was a member of Carroll County Gun Club, Mt. Airy Izaac Walton League of America (IWLA) and was an army veteran during WWII. Born November 9, 1918, in Los Angeles, Cal., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel Summers Grater. She was the wife of the late Lawrence T. Stripling. She had been a registered nurse and had worked at Colliseum Park Hospital in Macon for many years. She had attended Deerfield Senior Day Center. Wellmann Katherine "Kay" Louie Wellmann, 93, of Sykesville, died on Thursday, June 19, 2003, at the Carroll County General Hospital. Born on September 24, 1909, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elijah John and Mary A. Beam Blizzard. She was a retired hearing reporter for the State of Maryland. She had resided at Fairhaven since 1988. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Marlene W. and Elwood A. Neiswender of Fairhaven, Sykesville; sister, Mary Ruth Sackett of New Oxford, Pa.; and grandchildren, Mark, Keith and Bruce Neiswender and Linda DiGeorge.
