Born on Sept. 28, 1943, in Howard County, Maryland, he was the son of the late James Lee and Ruby Mary Gollahon Anderson. He was the husband of Cecelia "Cee" Hayes Anderson of Sykesville. Mr. Anderson had worked for the Stedding Family at Green Manor Turf Farm for over 40 years as a manager. Surviving in addition to his wife are step-sons, Chuck Crew and his wife Anne of Westminster, Scott Hayes and his wife Sandra of Westminster, Craig Hayes and his wife Angie of Westminster, Andy Hayes and John Hayes both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; step-daughter, Pam Toms of Frederick; brothers, William Anderson of Cumberland, Va. and Jerry Anderson of Baltimore; and sisters Jeanette Mathis of West Friendship and Helen Johnson of Sykesville. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held July 25 at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville. Interment is in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville.W Aubrey A. Harlow Aubrey Arther Harlow, 77, of Sykesville, died on Monday, July 21, 2003, at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Born on October 24, 1925, in Ruckersville, Va., he was the son of the late Sheugard Ridley and Eva Virginia Marshall Harlow. He was the husband of Margaret Inez Downs Harlow. Mr. Harlow was an iron worker and a member of local union #16. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served in WWII. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Patricia Harlow of Edgemere, Jody and Katherine Harlow of Eldersburg and Charles and Pamela Harlow of Taneytown; daughters and sons-in-law, Davena and John Marick and Kelly and Daniel Sherman, all of Eldersburg; siblings, Ora V. Lanning of South Beloit, Ill., Curtis Harlow of Charlottesville, Va., Chester Harlow of Padadena, Md., Jake Harlow of Stanardsville, Va., Odell Harlow of Ruckersville, Va. and Overton Harlow of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Born on December 6, 1960, in Frederick County, Maryland, she was the daughter of Agnes Irene Miller Plunkert of Finksburg and the late Warren Lee Plunkert. She had worked in insurance sales for Advantage Group in Reisterstown. Pauline H. Matuszewski Pauline Helen Matuszewski, 85 of Sykesville and formerly of Brooklyn Park, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the home of her niece after a lengthy illness. Born April 15, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Sophie Rycharski Gregorek who came to the U.S. from Poland. She was the wife of the late Anthony "Tony" Matuszewski who died in 1984. She had been a seamstress for many years. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was very devoted to her husband for whom she cared for for over 17years after he became disabled. She was a former member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Brooklyn Park. Surviving are her niece and nephew, Deborah and Bill Davis of Sykesville with whom she lived; sister-in-law Marian Gregorek; devoted friend and caregiver Betty Davis of Sykesville; nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and two grandsons. Thomas Wheeler Thomas Edward Wheeler, 52, of Sykesville, died on Friday July 25, 2003. He was the husband of Pauline M. Warchalowski Wheeler of Sykesville He was born December 2, 1950, in Washington, D.C., the son of Helen Katherine Mahoney Wheeler of Rockville, and the late Frederick Wheeler, Jr. He was a driver for Giant Food. He was a member of Teamsters Local Union # 639, and was a member of the Harley Davidson Owners Group. He was many things to all who loved him. White Orville Wallace White, 74, of Mount Airy, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster. Born February 9, 1929. in Virginia, he was the son of the late Malvin M. and Mamie L. Hale White. He was the husband of Inez F. Livesay White of Mount Airy. He had been an engineer and retired from National Institutes of Health after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and was an airplane mechanic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Wheaton Lodge #228. Born on September 9, 1986, in Santa Ana, California, he was the son of Edwin F. Downs, Jr. of Maryland and the late Anne R. Honeychuck Downs. Mr. Downs was a student at Linganore High School where he was looking forward to beginning his senior year as a wide receiver on the Lancer Football team. He was a member of the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine and hoped to become a pediatrician. Mr. Downs was a member of the New Market United Methodist Church youth group. He was a fan of the Maryland Terrapins, the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR Racing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Surviving in addition to his father are a brother, Anthony Joseph Downs of Adelphi; a sister, Rebecca Elizabeth Downs of Deltaville, Va.; paternal grandparents, Ruth E. and Edwin F. He was the husband of the late Beverly Hannah Chamberlin. Mr. Chamberlin was born Jan. 25, 1939, in Jamaica, N.Y., the son of the late Eugene Wesley Chamberlin and the late Elizabeth Marie Messer Chamberlin. Mr. Chamberlin was a graduate of Princeton University and was retired from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. He was also the president of Optimist Club of Randallstown and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Baltimore. Surviving are sons, William A. He was the husband of Augusta Cook Garber of Eldersburg. He was born September 1, 1928, in Brooklandville (Baltimore County), the son of the late Charles Walter Garber and the late Hilda V. Whitcomb Hiers and her husband, the late John Leon Hiers. He was retired from Baltimore Freightliners and American Freightliner of Washington where he had worked as a sales engineer. Mr. Garber had also worked in the Baltimore office of General Motors as zone service representative claims administrator. He was a former member of the Freedom Optimist and Westminster Elks Club. He was an avid car enthusiast and an expert mechanic and enjoyed playing golf and traveling. Surviving are children Edward E. Garber, Jr. and wife Michele of Eldersburg, W. Judith Fay Ricketts Judith Fay Ricketts, 60, of Eldersburg, died August 3, 2003, at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster. Born April 7, 1943, in Maine, she was the daughter of Evelyn Clough Nason of North Brookfield, Mass., and the late Julian Nason. She was the wife of Melvin F. Ricketts of Eldersburg. He was a navy veteran having served during W.W. II. He was a plumber for over forty years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was a member of the Reisterstown Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing pinochle. Born August 25, 1964, in Baltimore, he was the son of Robert and Louise Jansen Eberwein, both of Ocala, Florida. He graduated from the Carroll County Special Education Center in 1983. He had worked for the Arc of Carroll County for 18 years. He also worked for the Arc in Marion County in Ocala, Florida. He was an avid Elvis Presley fan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers Robert M. Eberwein of Kingsville, Kevin P. Eberwein of California, Neil M. Eberwein of Littlestown, Pa., and numerous other family members and friends. Frank Guy Moore Frank Guy Moore, 45, of Mount Airy, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D.C., after a long illness of cystic fibrosis. Born March 12, 1958, in Binghamton, N.Y., he was the son of Sheila Kinney Moore of Rockville and the late Robert Moore. He was the husband of Joan F. Moore, his wife of 16 years. Mr. Moore was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Libertytown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and softball. Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife are two daughters, Brittany Moore and Shannon Moore, both at home; one son, Joseph Moore, at home; one brother, Bob Moore of Ellicott City ; and three sisters, Melissa Armstrong of Rockville, Eileen Kramer of Camp Hill, Pa., and Mary Gill of Olney; mother-in- law and father-in-law, Catherine and Carl Stahle of Arnold; and 26 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Frank Moore; and a sister, Karen Moore. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 19 at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. John Dietzenbach as celebrant. Chatham Towers 'Bud' Nottingham Sr. Chatham Towers "Bud" Nottingham Sr., 87, of Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of the Silver Spring/Wheaton area, died Aug. 10, 2003, from complications following colon cancer surgery. Mr. Nottingham was born Oct. 5, 1915, in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Lawrence Nottingham and Virginia Towers Nottingham. He had worked as superintendent of Licenses and Inspection for the Washington, D.C., government until he retired in 1973 after 40 years of service. Mr. Nottingham was the co-founder and vice president of Guardian Federal Savings and Loan Association. Born Aug. 23, 1944 in Olney, he was a son of the late William Elmer and Blye Story Ayton. He was the husband of Dorothy Elizabeth Ayton, his wife of 38 years. Mr. Ayton graduated from Strayer College in Washington, D.C., with a degree in accounting. He owned and operated his own business for 19 years. He attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Laytonsville. He was an honorary member of the Laytonsville Volunteer Fire Department and was a past rescue captain. He enjoyed coaching softball, football and playing horseshoes.
