Born May 20, 1935, in Sneedville, Tenn., he was the son of the late John and Nora Winkler Barnard. He was the loving husband of Edna Barnard for 46 years. He lived most of his life in Maryland before moving to Danville following his retirement from Alfred Packaging Co., in Baltimore where he worked as an offset pressman. He served in the military from 1956 to 1957 and had been stationed in Germany for 17 months. Prior to moving to Danville, he had been a member for of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Ellicott City for many years. He was a member of Schoolfield Pentecostal Holiness Church in Danville.He loved working in church helping with food programs for needy families. He enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables and giving them to family and friends. Surviving in addition to his wife are son Perry of Danville, Va.; brothers Dayton Barnard of Mt. Airy, and Kyle Barnard of Morristown, Tenn.; sisters Loretta Bell of New Market, Lucille Baker of Frederick, Lois Holmes of Savage, Lorene Perry of Tazwell, Tenn., and Claire Phillips of Leesburg, Va. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, Roy, Jay, Clarence, and Elmer Barnard and sisters Helen Baker, Emlo Helton, and Ala Mae Winkles. Bernard Emard Bernard Emard, of Sykesville, died Saturday, October 23, 2004. Emard was the beloved husband of the late Virginia B. Emard; loving father of Patricia E. Greenwald and her husband Raymond, of Sykesville; and Lawrence Emard and his wife Darlene of St. Augustine, Fl. Emard was also grandfather of Kristin Ruark, Jennifer Regan, Karen Johnson, Erik Greenwald, M. Brandon Emard and A. Soctt Emard. Vara Agnes Wimmer Forthman Vara Agnes Wimmer Forthman, 93, of Greenville, S.C., formerly of Sykesville, died Tuesday Oct. 12, 2004, in Greenville. Born Dec. 3, 1910, in Bluefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Rev. John H. and Sarah Eller Wimmer. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church of Greenville and a former member of St. Paul's United Methodist in Sykesville where she was an active choir member for many years. She was also a former member of the United Methodist Women. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Surviving are her husband M. Lee Forthman; three sons Neil L. Forthman of Sykesville, Craig Forthman of Simpsonville, S.C. and Gary S. Forthman of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.; two sisters Bertha Wood of Shelocta, Pa., and Mary Winter of Ford City, Pa.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was the fiancée of Armida Novoa of Frederick. Born Aug. 31, 1981, in Mexico City, Mexico, he was the son of Diana Sanchez Gonzalez. Mrs. Buhl had worked as an operator and supervisor for C&P Telephone for 10 years and also worked 10 years for Super Fresh in its Eldersburg and Reisterstown locations. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He had worked as a commercial electrician. A stay-at-home mother for many years, she returned to work at Watkins Johnson in Gaithersburg, where she retired in 1985. She was the wife of the late Roland Robert Faulkner, her husband of 71 years. Born July 16, 1906, in Washington, D.C., she was a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Dora Pillsbury Tyler. Mrs. Faulkner attended Strayer College and the Washington School for Secretaries. She was a licensed day care operator from 1952 to 1997, retiring when she was age 91. In the course of her career she had raised over 300 children. In 2001, she wrote and had published a book about her life entitled "My Life ­ From Outhouse to the Computer." Mrs. Faulkner was active in the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Department. She was an avid bingo player, and loved to crotchet and spend time with her family. She was a member of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Libertytown. Born April 2, 1922, in Smithburg, Md., he was the son of the late Bruce Wilmer, Sr. and Ruth Johnson Knauff. He was the husband of 62 years of Marguerite R. Ruch Knauff of Sykesville. He had worked for 36 years as a truck driver. After his career in truck driving he went to work for a contractor doing work for NSA for the past 15 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Bruce W. Knauff, III of Woodbine, Brian A. Knauff of Ellicott City and Brent Michael Knauff of Sykesville; daughters Joyce A. Knauff, Lisa K. Livesay Sr., 70, of Marriottsville, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at his home. Born November 13, 1933 in Kyles Ford, Tenn., he was the son of the late Dewey and Addie Collingsworth Livesay. He was the husband of Marjorie Lewis Livesay of Marriottsville, his wife of 49 years. Eulav McCraw Eulav McCraw, 78, of Surgoinsville, Tenn. and formerly of Sykesville died Sunday, November 7, 2004, at her home. Born June 6, 1926, in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth Stewart Bryant. She was the wife of Howard L. McCraw of Surgoinsville, Tenn. "Dick" Moler of Sykesville and formerly of Dundalk, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at Lorien Nursing Center, Mount Airy. Born August 3, 1920, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Archie C. and Leviah Pumphrey Moler. He was the husband of the late Thalia McGaha Moler. He had served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was a steel worker and had retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1982 after 50 years of service. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Lucretia Moler-Beach and Donald Beach of Florida, Dawn D. Back of Sykesville and Rhonda and Marty Singley of Sykesville; brother Donald B. Roger Rinker officiating. Interment is in Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge. *****Nov. 25, 2004***** Barbara Beall Barbara Jo Buxton Beall, 58, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at her home in Damascus. She was the wife of David E. Beall, her husband of 39 years. Born Oct. 8, 1946, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Allie May Moxley Buxton of Damascus, and late Roscoe F. Buxton. Mrs. Beall graduated from Damascus High School in 1946 as valedictorian of her class. She attended Asbury College where she majored in music. She was an accomplished musician and taught private piano lessons in her home for more than 35 years. One of her biggest enjoyments in life was being involved in the music ministry of many local churches where she played both the piano and organ. After her marriage in 1965, Barbara devoted her life to being a full-time homemaker. During these years she not only cared for her family but also devoted her life to ministry within the church. She taught Sunday school, directed choirs and was totally dedicated to helping people who were in need. Once her children became adults she went back to school to get a degree in accounting and spent several years keeping books for some local businesses. Later she worked as a nursing aide for Montgomery County schools. For the last four years she had been involved in a long, painful fight with cancer. Her biggest joy these last four years was the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband and mother are two children, Julie L. Beall of Damascus and J. Michael Beall of Frederick; four grandchildren, Victoria Markham, Kyle Markham, Michael Meadows and Kristofer Beall; a brother, Stephen a. Buxton of Damascus; aunts and uncles, Ada Mae Beacht and her husband Harold of Gaithersburg, and Roger B. Buxton and his wife Chandra of Mount Airy; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sallie Runkles and husband Robert of Braddock Heights and Daniel Beall and wife Christine of Clarksburg.
