I Josiah Adlesperger of Taneytown Carroll County Maryland, being in delicate health, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. After my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, I devise and bequeath as follows: ITEM: I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Anna Adlesperger all my property, Real, personal and mixed and of every nature and kind, wheresoever situated for her own use during her lifetime only. ITEM: And I give and bequeath unto my son, Alexander P. Adlesperger, all the money that I ever paid for him, also the note or obligation which I now hold against him and his wife, ITEM: And I do hereby Authorise and empower my executor here in after mentioned to do the following acts and things as soon as it may be convenient after my death. I order and direct him to dispose of at public or private sale all my Real and personal property (except such house hold goods as my wife wishes to select for herself) and I hereby Authorise and empower my Executor to convey my Real Estate to the purchaser in as good and lawful a manner as I could if I were living myself. ITEM: And I do hereby give devise and bequeath the entire balance of estate that may be on hand after my wifes death (after paying her debts and funeral expenses) to my son John L. Adlesperger and my daughter Anna Mary Classon, share and share alike. And should either of the last two named children, die leaving issue there the issue to have the parents share. And I do hereby Authorise my executor, after collecting all my outstanding notes and accounts of every kind and after selling all my property of every kind to put the same on interest, and pay the interest to my wife Annually for her support and if it shall appear that the interest is not sufficient for her maintenance there she shall have so much of the principal as may her necessary to make her comfortable, and for this purpose I direct that he put one hundred dollars in bank so that he can pay her money. when she wants it provided the interest does not hold out. And lastly I do here by constitute and appoint Francis J. Classon my executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking and annulling all former wills, by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and none other, to be my last will and testament. In testimony where of I here unto set my hand and seal this 13th day of August 1888 Josiah Adlesperger (SEAL) Signed, Sealed, published and declared by the above named Josiah Adlesperger, as and for his last will and testament in our presence, who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereto set our hands as witnesses hereto. Wm. F. Fink A.F.Orndorff Jno.P. Gardner On the 14th day of January 1889, before the Orphans' Court of Carroll county came Aloysuis F. Orndorff, and in open Court made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the above instrument of writing is the true and whole last Will and Testament of Josiah Adlesperger late of Carroll County, deceased; that he received it from the Testator in his life time for safe keeping and that he does not know of any other will or codicil left by said deceased. TEST: Geo. M. Parke Maryland, Carroll County TO WIT: On the 14th day of January, 1889, before the Orphans' Court of Carroll County came William J. Fink, and Aloysius F. Orndorff, two of the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and Testament of Josiah Adlesperger late of Carroll County, deceased, and in open Court made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that they did see Josiah Adlesperger the testator in said will named, sign and seal said will; that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament; that at the time of so doing he the said testator, was to the best of their apprehension, knowledge and belief, of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they together with John P. Gardner, the other subscribing witnefs to said will who is at present a non resident of the state of Maryland subscribed their respective names as witnesses to said will, at the request of the said testator, in his presence and in the presence of each other. Geo M Parke Reg of Wills In the Orphans' Court of Carroll County: The Court, after having carefully examined the above last will and testament of Josiah Adlesperger late of Carroll County, deceased, and also the evidence adduced as to its validity, orders and decrees, this 14th day of January 1889, that the same be admitted to probate in this Court as the true and genuine last will and testament of the said Josiah Adlesperger, deceased.
