These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ************************************************************************ The Last Will and Testament of Jacob Sauble, deceased In the name of God, Amen; I Jacob Sauble of Carroll County in the State of Maryland, being advanced in life and at present in feeble health of body But of sound and disposing mind and considering the uncertainty of life and wishing to make some disposition of my property before it shall please God to call me hence, do therefore make and declare this instrument of writing to be my last Will and Testament as follows to wit: I. In the fist place, I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God, Humbly relying on His infinite Mercy, and my body to the earth to be decently Buried under the direction of my dear family and friends; and after my funeral expenses and all proper charges against my estate are paid, I dispose of all the estate and property I now own or may hereafter acquire as follows to wit: II. I give and bequeath to my Oldest daughter, Eliza Holland, wife of Edward Holland, or Her heirs the sum of $100.00 dollars One Hundred dollars. III. I give and bequeath to my second daughter Mary Tate, wife of Thomas Tate, the sum of $300.00 dollars Three Hundred dollars; also the four notes I hold against the said Thomas Tate amounting to $930.00 dollars with the interest due thereon. IV. I give and bequeath to my single daughter, Lydia Sauble she being my youngest child, The (2) two acre lot with Dwelling House and other improvements thereon, it being the same property on which I now reside, together with all my Personal property of what so ever kind it may consist, including all money I may have on hand in the House or in Bank at the time of my death, also the sum of $800.00 dollars Eight hundred dollars. V. To my daughter Belinda Lambert wife of George Lambert I give and Bequeath the farm I now own it being 83 acres more or less with the improvements thereon which was purcased from Johnathan Lambert Executor of Hetty Lambert late of Carroll County State of Maryland deceased. With this provision that at the time of my death the said Belinda Lambert or George Lambert her husband are to pay all my funeral expenses and my just and honest debts if there be any, the said Belinda Lambert or George Lambert her husband shall have the privilege to sell the said farm if they think it best to do so at Public or Private Sale, or if they prefer to keep said farm they can do so. But they must settle or pay the legacys mentioned in item No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4, from the money received from said sale or otherwise if they can do so, and the money remaining from said sale of the farm shall be theirs clear of any encumbrances from my other children, that is in Fea Simple. VI. Lastly, I hereby appoint my Said Soninlaw George Lambert husband of Belinda Lambert, and my Single daughter Lydia Sauble to be the Executors of this my last Will and Testament, not requiring them to give any Bond, but authorizing them to do every act and thing necessary to settle my estate; and I do hereby revoke all other wills by me heretofore made ratifying this and none other to be my last Will and Testament. In testimony where of I do hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal This Twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Ninety-One.
