The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber RCH, Number 4, Folio 729 Know all men by these presents that I Rensalaer Biddle of Cecil County in the State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars current money to me in hand paid by Jacob Biddle of the County and State aforesaid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof I the said Rensalaer Biddle do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained and sold and by these presents to grant bargain and sell unto the said Jacob Biddle his Executers administrators and assigns all the goods chattels and effects hereinafter particularly mentioned. That is to say, one brown mare, two thousand staves, white oak, at the farm of Mrs Lusby in Sassafras Neck, twelve cords of Oak Wood at Samuel Katts(?) in Sassafras Neck and four Tons of Bark in the woods of Thomas Ward, also in said Sassafras Neck. To Have and To Hold all and singular the said goods chattels and effects and other the premises above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the said Jacob Biddle his Executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Rensalaer Biddle for myself my heirs Executors and administrators all and singular the said goods Chattels and effects and other the premises unto the said Jacob Biddle his Executers administrators and assigns against me the said Rensalaer Biddle my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever. Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents, of all and Singular, which said goods chattels and effects. I the said Rensalaer Biddle have put the said Jacob Biddle in full possession, by delivering to him the said Jacob Biddle the brown Mare aforesaid at the sealing and delivery of these presents in the name of the whole premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto him the said Jacob Biddle as aforesaid. In Witness whereof I the said Rensalaer Biddle have hereunto set my hand and seal on this tenth day of January in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty four. Ranseler Biddle (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of John A Rankin State of Maryland Cecil County Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this tenth day of January in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty four, before the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Maryland for and within Cecil County personally appeared Rensalaer Biddle he being known to me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the foregoing deed or indenture, and doth acknowledge the same, to be his act and deed. At the same time and place also comes Jacob Biddle the granted named in the foregoing Bill of Sale and being by me duly sworn an oath declares that the consideration therein mentioned is true and bona fide.
