All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ********************************************************* Cecil County Land Record Book, Number 20, Folio 358 Know all Men by these Presents that Whereas I Peter Egner Junior of Cecil County by a certain Bond or obligation bearing date the day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Ninety six stand bound unto John Wilson of Cecil County in the sum of three hundred pounds Conditioned for the payment of one hundred and fifty Pounds on the day of march then next ensuing with legal Interest on said sum from the date of the said obligation, and whereas there has been no part of the Money due upon said obligation paid to the said John Wilson but the whole Principal with the accrued Interest thereon still remain in arrear and unpaid Now I the said Peter Egner in Consideration of the premises and for the better securing of the payment of the said sum of Money so as aforesaid due upon the said Obligation together with Interest due and that shall become due and in the further Consideration of the sum of Twenty Shillings to me in hand paid by the said John Wilson at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge Have granted bargained and sold and by these presents Do grant bargain and sell assign and deliver unto the said John Wilson his Executors Administrators and Assigns all the Cattle Horses stock goods Chattles and Effects, Household Stuff Implements and Tools particulary[sic[ mentioned expressed and Contained in the Schedule hereunto annexed, To Have and to hold all and singular the said Cattle Horses Stock goods Chattles and Effects and all other the Property in the said Schedule mentioned and expressed unto the said John Wilson his Executors Administrators or Assigns forever, And I the said Peter Egner the same unto the said John Wilson and his Assigns shall and will warrant acquit and defend by these Presents Provided always that if I the said Peter Egner shall and do well and truly pay unto the said John Wilson his Exe’rs Adm’ors or Assigns the said sum of Money in the Condition of the said Bond or obligation specified with all the Interest due or to become due at or before the Tenth day of November next insuing[sic] the date of these presents without any deduction or Abatement whatsoever then this Bill of Sale to be void or else to be and remain in full force & Virtue But if default should be made in payment of the said sum of Money contrary to the aforementioned Proviso that then it shall be lawful for the said John Wilson or his Assigns at any time after the said tenth day of November to sell and dispose of all and singular the said Cattle Horses Stock Goods Chattles and Effects as he the said John Wilson shall think fit at such prices as can be reasonably had or obtained for the same and there out as far forth as they will to retain to himself such principal and Interest Money as shall be due on said Bond or obligation and the Charges arising by such sale or disposal of all and singular of which Cattle Horses Chattles & Effects I have put the said John Wilson into Possession of by a delivery thereof at the sealing and delivery of these Presents, In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this thirtieth[sic] day of October in the year Seventeen hundred and Ninety seven - 1797. Peter Egner Jun’r Sealed & delivered in presence of Peter Egner Sam’l Evans A List or Schedule of the Cattle Horses Stock Goods etc sold and delivered by Peter Egner Jr by the foregoing Bill of sale To One old white Mare, To one Black horse, To one young Lite Don horse, To one young Bay horse, To one Waggon[sic] set of Baggs[sic], To four Set Wag’n gears, To one Black Cow with a white face, To one Brown Cow with a Bell, To one small yearling Heiffer, To two young Sows with Eight Pigs, To two Feather Beds and Furniture for Each, To Six Rush botamed[sic] Chears[sic] and small Table, To one chest Teaware and pleats of Quensware[sic], To one dutch oven and two pots, The above property was delivered by Peter Egner to John Wilson Witness Peter Egner Sam’l Evans Cecil County, Sct.
