MD Deed Book 9 p. 398 This Indenture made this fifth day of September Seventeen hundred & sixty One by and between William GILLESPIE of Cecil County in Maryland & Elizabeth his wife of the one part and Robert CORRY of Chester County in Pennsylvania, Merchant, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William GILLESPIE for and in Consideration of the Sum of forty seven Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid or secured to be paid by the said Robert CORRY the Receipt whereof the said William GILLESPIE doth hereby confess and acknowlege & for other good Causes and Considerationss him thereunto moving hath given granted bargained and sold aliened enforssed (?) released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant and sell unto the said Robert CORRY all and singular that Piece Parcel or Tract of Land situate lying and being in Cecil County afs'd which he the said William GILLESPIE bought and purchased of Thomas WEIR as may more at large (?) appear by his Indenture bearing date the first day of May Seventeen hundred and Sixty one and is part of a Tract of Land called New Munster upon the Main Fresh of Elk River the one part of it being part of a Tract of nine hundred & three Acres purchased by Arthur ALEXANDER from Thomas STEVENSON as may appear by his Indenture bearing date the fourteenth day of August Seventeen hundred & Eighteen the Assignee of Robert ROBERTS as may appear by his Indenture bearing date the fourteenth day of August Seventeen hundred and eighteen the Remainder being part of a Tract of Eleven hundred & fifty Acres bought by the aforesaid Arthur ALEXANDER & Company from the abovesaid Thomas STEVENSON as may appear by a general Deed of ____ under his the said STEVENSON's hand and Seal bearing date the Eighteenth day of May Seventeen hundred and fourteen the assignee of the above Robert ROBERTS as may appear by his Indenture bearing date the first day of April Seventeen hundred & fourteen butted and bounded as followeth: Beginning a a marked Corner Black Oak standing on the East Side of the main Fresh of Elk RIver forsaid and is a COrner of John MCCOYS & WIlliam LONGWILL'S Land and running thence along line of said LONGWILL'S Land North Seventy Six degrees East one hundred and Sixteen Perches to a Stake thence North Seventy two Degrees East Eighty two Perches to a Stake thence North ten Perches to a Stake thence East Sixty Perches to a Corner Stone thence South twenty Six degrees West Sixty two Perches to a Persimmon Tree thence South twenty four degrees East twenty Perchest to a Hickory thence North Eighty two Degrees West eight Perches to a white Oak thence South Twenty Degrees West twenty nine Perches to a Hickory thence North Seventy One Degrees West forty four Perches to a Black Oak thence North Seventeen Degrees West Sixteen Perches to a black Oak thence West One hundred & Seventy Perches to the place of beginning containing more or less ___ Sixty Seven Acres more or less as the same is containing in its natural & artificial Boundaries with the Rights Members Appurtenances thereof & all houses Edifices Buildings Orchards Gardens Lands Meadows Common Pastures Trees Woods Underwoods Ways Water Courses Casements (?) Profits Advantagements Hereditaments and Appurtenances to the same belonging or in any ways appertaining and also the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents and Services thereof and also all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim & Domain of whatsoever of him the said William GILLESPIE and Elizabeth his wife of in & to the same belonging or in any ways appertaining To have and to hold the above Messuage and Premisses with the Appurtenances unto the said Robert CORRY his Heirs and Assigns foreer and the said Robert CORRY his Heirs and Assigns that he the said William GILLESPIE now is lawfully and rightfully seized in his own Right of a good sure perfect absolute and indefeasable Estate of Inheritance in fee Simple of in and to all and singular the said Messuage and Premisses above mentioned and of every part there of without any manner of Condition Mortgage LImitation of use or other matter Cause or Thing to be alter change charge or determining the same and I the said William GILLESPIE for my Heirs Executors & Administrators do covenant promise and grant to and with the said Robert CORRY his Heirs and Assigns that the said Robert CORRY his Heirs and Assigns shall & may from time to tima and at all times hereafter by virtue of these presences peacably have hold occupy and enjoy the above granted & bargained Premisses with the Appurtenances free and clear and freely and clearly acquited exonerated & discharged of and from all manner of former Gifts Grants Bargains Sales Leases Mortgages Wills Entails Jointures Dowries Judgements Executions INcumbrances whatsoever and the said William GILLESPIE do further covenant & bind myself my Heirs Exors and Admors. firmly by these presents to warrant and forever defend the said Robert CORRY his Heirs and Assigns in quiet and peacable POssession of all and singular the said granted Premisses against any just and lawful Claim of any person or persons whatsoever further that the said William GILLESPIE his Heirs Exors. & ADmrs. shall and will at any time within the Term of Seven Years from the date hereof at the reasonble Request and proper Charges of him the said Robert CORRY his Heirs and Admors. (?) make & execute and acknowledge to be made done and acknowledged all and every such further Act and Acts Deed or Deeds or Conveyance in the Law for the more effectual conveying and sure making of the said bargained or herby int___ to be bargained Premisses unto the said Robert CORRY his Heirs and Assigns for ever and by his or their Counsel learned in the Law shall be reasonably devised advised or required. In witness whereof the said William GILLESPIE & Elizabeth his Wife to this present Indenture have interchangbly set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
