The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Newspaper Advertisement in Will file of Mary S Arbuckle (date and whether published in Cecil Whig or Cecil Democrat is unknown) EXECUTORS' SALE -OF- VALUABLE FARMS In the Third and Fourth Election Districts of Cecil County By virtue of a power of sale contained in the last will and testament of Mary S Arbuckle, late of Cecil County, deceased, as well as by virtue of an order of the Orphans' Court for said county, the undersigned, executors of said last will and testament, will sell at Public Sale, at the Court House door, at Elkton, in said county, on Tuesday, December 12, 1905 AT 11 O'CLOCK A.M. All the following described valuable farms and real estate of which the said Mary S Arbuckle died seized, and particularly described as follows: No. 1 -- Consists of all that valuable farm known as "Whitehall," located on the public road from Cherry Hill to Fair Hill, near the village of Andora, containing 142 1/2 Acres of Land, More or Less. The land is of the very natural quality and in a high state of cultivation. The fencing on this property is all in good order, all of the outside or road fence being hedge, well kept and in first class condition. The improvements consist of a Large Brick House 2 1/2 Stories High, containing 10 rooms, with front and back porches, with well of good water at the kitchen door. A Frame Barn 128x56, with two floors, all in good order. Wagon House and Granary, Carriage House, Wagon Sheds, Corn Cribs, Chicken House, Wood Shed, Ice House. All of these building are in a good state of repair. There is sufficient wood and timber upon the property for the purpose of the farm. There is water in every field upon the farm. This is one of the most beautifully located farms in the county, commanding a view of the surrounding country for many miles, including a view of Elk and North East Rivers, and the Delaware and Chesapeake Bays. No. 2 -- Consists of all that farm whereon Samuel J Arbuckle resides, lying on the west side of the public road from Cherry Hill to Fair Hill, (directly opposite farm No. 1, herein described), containing 76 Acres, 1 Rood of Land, More or Less. This farm is all under first-class fencing, the road fence being hedge, well kept and in first-class condition. The land is of the best natural quality and in a high state of cultivation. The improvements consist of a Frame House Two Stories High, containing 6 rooms, with porches, front and back, with summer kitchen. Well of good water at the kitchen. Frame Barn 40x45 feet, with Straw Shed, Wagon House, Corn Cribs, and Granary. All of the buildings on this farm are comparatively new. These farms will first be offered separately, and the bids received therefor will be held, and then the property will be offered as a whole, the executors reserving the right to accept the highest bid when offered in the manner indicated. At the same time and place the undersigned will sell 18 ACRES OF GROWING WHEAT on farm No. 1, and 15 ACRES OF GROWING WHEAT on farm No. 2. TERMS OF SALE - One-third of the purchase money for Real Estate cash on day of sale; one-third in six and the balance in twelve months from day of sale, the credit payments to bear interest from day of sale to be secured by the notes or bonds of the purchaser with surety or sureties to be approved by the executors, or all of the money in cash at the option of the purchaser. The terms of sale of growing wheat crop, note at eight months with surety, interest from date if not paid when due. Cost of deed to be paid by purchaser.
