Witnesseth, whereas in and by two deeds of mortgage from John T Bonner and Minerva J Bonner, his wife to The Mutual Building Association of Cecil County, one dated on the second day of May, in the year eighteen hundred and seventy three, and recorded among the Mortgage records of Cecil County aforesaid, in Liber DS No 9 folio 378 etc, and the other dated on the twenty seventh day of September, in the year eighteen hundred and seventy five, and recorded among said Mortgage records in Liber AWM No 3 folio 305 etc, power and authority was conferred upon me, the said Clinton McCullough, as the attorney named in said Mortgages, in case of default, by the said mortgagors in the performance of the covenants of said Mortgages, to sell the Mortgaged property mentioned and described in said Mortgages; and whereas in pursuance of said power and authority, I the said Clinton McCullough, as attorney aforesaid, did on the thirteenth day of August, in the year eighteen hundred and seventy eight sell the aforementioned mortgaged property to the said the Mutual Building Association of Cecil County, at and for the sum of eight hundred and fifty dollars, which said sale has been duly reported to and ratified and confirmed by the Circuit Court for Cecil County, in Equity, as will appear by reference to the proceedings in a cause in said Court, wherein the said The Mutual Building Association of Cecil County is complainant and the said John T Bonner and wife are complainants[sic], being cause Number 871, in said Court; and whereas, by an order of said Court passed on the thirtieth day of October, in the year eighteen hundred and seventy eight, in the aforesaid cause, William H Brokaw, of Cecil County aforesaid, was substituted as the purchaser of the said mortgaged property, in the place and stead of the said The Mutual Building Association of Cecil County, and I, the said Clinton McCullough, as attorney aforesaid, was directed to convey said mortgaged property to the said William H Brokaw. Now therefore in consideration of the premises and of the payment of the whole of the purchase money aforesaid, I, the said Clinton McCullough, Attorney as aforesaid, do grant unto the said William H Brokaw, all the right and title of all the parties to the aforesaid mortgages and to the aforesaid cause, in and to all those parts of tracts pieces or parcels of land situate, lying and being in the village of Cherry Hill in Cecil County aforesaid, containing eight acres, more or less, which are mentioned and described in the aforesaid mortgages, and which were conveyed to the said John T Bonner, by James K Burnite and wife, by deed dated on the thirtieth day of April in the year eighteen hundred and seventy three, and recorded in Liber DS No 10 folio 46 etc, one of the land record books of Cecil County aforesaid; to which said deed, and the deeds therein referenced to, reference is hereby made for the courses and distances, and a more particular description of said parts of tracts, pieces or parcels of land.
