Witnessth that in consideration of one dollar the said George Brown and Sarah Jane Brown his wife do grant unto David T Devlin, Nathaniel Flounders, Joseph Steele, William S Burnite(?), Tobias Peterson, Jesse Taylor, Wm Alfred Cannan, John S Henderson and Thomas Peterson, as Trustees, and to their successors in office of County and State aforesaid, a certain lot or parcel of ground, situated in Fourth District of said County, bounded and described as follows. Beginning at a stump in line of Nathanial Flounders land, in the middle of the public road leading from the Telegraph road to Flounders corner, and running thence with the middle of said road South eleven degrees West twenty five perches to the road leading from Poplar Hill to Scotts Mills, thence with the last named road South seventy nine and one half degrees East five perches to a stone, thence North twenty five and one half perches to a stake, thence due West fifteen feet to the place of Beginning. Containing four tenths of an acre of land more or less, in Trust that the said premises shall be used, kept and maintained as a place of Divine Worship for the use of the Ministry and membership of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States of America, subject to the discipline, usage and ministerial appointments of said Church, as from time to time authorized and declared by the General Conference of said Church and the Annual Conference within whose bounds the said premises are situate, and while used and disposed of as above named, this deed to be in fee simple, but if ever abandoned by the above named grantees or their successors in office, so that the said premises become obsolete for the purposes above named, then the said premises shall revert, free of cost, to the above named grantors or to their heirs and assigns. Being a portion of the land which the said George Brown obtained from Phebe A Pennock, Emily Pennock, Robert Pennock, Samuel Pennock and Elizabeth Pennock heirs at law of Joseph Pennock deceased, by deed dated on the 9th day of December 1876, and recorded in the Record Books of said County in Liber AWM No 4 folio 516, reference being thereto had will more fully appear Witness our hands and Seals.
