Release of Mortgage by Alexander & Elizabeth R SCOTT to John W & Matilda EGNOR 
(1866)

Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber CHH, Number 1, Folio 334

This Deed made this third day of April in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred 
and sixty six by Alexander Scott and Elizabeth Scott his wife of Cecil County in 
the State of Maryland.  Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of One 
thousand dollars paid at different times to them the said Alexander Scott & wife 
do grant unto John W Egner & Matilda his wife all that property which is 
described in a deed of Mortgage from the said John W Egner & wife to the said 
Alexander Scott & wife dated on the twenty fourth day of March Eighteen hundred 
and Sixty and recorded in Liber WHR No 3 folio 572 etc one of the Land Record 
Books of Cecil County will appear and this is intended to be a full release of 
the said Mortgage.  Provided nothing herein is to be so construed as to effect 
or interfere with another Mortgage on the collection thereof held by the same 
parties binding on the same property.

Cecil County, to wit
I hereby certify that on this third day of April in the year of our Lord 
Eighteen hundred and sixty six, before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of 
the State of Maryland in & for Cecil County aforesaid, personally appeared 
Alexander Scott and Elizabeth his wife did each acknowledge the above release of 
Mortgage to be their respective act.
