Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber DS, Number 2, Folio 581

This Deed made this second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand 
eight hundred and seventy by Matthew Borland and Amanda Borland his wife of the 
county of Cecil in the state of Maryland.  Witnessth that in consideration of 
one thousand three hundred and fifty-dollars, the said Matthew Borland and 
Amanda Borland his wife do grant unto Mary Ann D Williamson of the county of 
Cecil in the state of Maryland in fw(?).  All that tract or parcel of land and 
premises, situate in Cecil County aforesaid.  Beginning at a stone the Northeast 
corner of the same, also the Northwest corner of a lot of land of John Thompson 
and in the line of land of John Mackies thence North seventy nine and three 
quarters degrees West thirty three perches and sixty-eight hundredths to a stake 
in the line of said Mackie and now a corner of said Borlands land, thence South 
Twenty seven and a half degrees West three perches and sixty-four hundredths to 
a stake, thence South one and three quarters degrees, West forty-three perches 
to a stake in the road leading from the Rock Presbyterian Church to Fair Hill 
thence with said road North Eight-eight and a half degrees East Thirty-four 
perches to the Southwest corner of said Thompsons lot, thence North three 
quarters degrees East thirty-eight perches and four tenths to the place of 
Beginning. Containing nine acres and two and a half perches of land by the same 
more or less.  It being the eastern part of a tract of land conveyed by Walter 
Armstrong to Matthew Borland and by John Mackie to Walter Armstrong as per deed 
dated the 9th of Sept 1856 and Recorded in Liber HHM No 7 folio 485th one of the 
Land Record Books of Cecil County aforesaid.

I hereby certify that on this second day of April in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and seventy before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace 
of the State of Maryland in and for Cecil County personally appeared Matthew 
Borland and Amanda Borland his wife and did each acknowledge the foregoing deed 
to be their respective acts.
