This Deed made this Eighteenth day of August, in the year Eighteen hundred and 
seventy by one John R Ricard Jr of the City of Baltimore and state of Maryland.  
Whereas a certain Philip A Ricard and Eliza Ricard his wife of Cecil County and 
state aforesaid, for the purpose of securing the payment of the sum of Three 
thousand eight hundred and thirty one dollars and sixty four cents, due from the 
said Philip A Ricard to the said John R Ricard Jr did by their deed of Mortgage 
dated on the sixth day of December in the year Eighteen hundred and Fifty six 
and recorded in Liber HHM No 8 folio 188 etc one of the Land record Books of 
Cecil County aforesaid, convey unto Thomas A Ricard in trust for the use and 
benefit of the said John R Ricard Jr certain real estate particularly described 
in said deed:  And Whereas the said sum of Three Thousand eight hundred and 
thirty one dollars and sixty four cents has been paid to one the said John R 
Ricard Jr by the said Eliza Ricard, for the purpose of releasing and discharging 
the said Real Estate from the lien created by the said Mortgage this instrument 
of writing is executed.  Now This Deed Witnesseth that in consideration of the 
premises and of the payment of the said sum of Three Thousand eight hundred and 
thirty one dollars and sixty four cents, I, the said John R Ricard Jr, do grant 
unto the said Eliza Ricard, all that Real Estate mentioned and described in said 
deed so far as may __ necessary to Release said Real Estate from the Mortgage 
thereby created

and acknowledged the aforegoing deed to be his act.  Acknowledged before and

I hereby certify that William H Walsh Esquire before whom the annexed 
acknowledgment was made who has thereto subscribed his name, was at the time of 
so doing a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of

hand and affix the seal of the superior Court of Baltimore City this 18th day of 
August AD 1870.
