Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber DS, Number 6, Folio 186

This Deed made this ninth day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand 
Eight hundred and seventy two by Matthew Borland and Amanda Borland his wife of 
Cecil County State of Maryland and Theodore F Armstrong of New Ark State of 
Delaware.  Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of eight hundred and 
seventy five dollars, the said Matthew Borland, Amanda Borland his wife and 
Theodore F Armstrong do grant in fee simple unto Westley Janney of Cecil County 
aforesaid.  All that tract or parcel of Land and premises situate lying and 
being in Cecil County aforesaid.  Beginning for the same at a stone being the 
North East corner and a corner of Land of the heirs of the late John Mackie, 
from thence South sixty-nine degrees west fourteen perches and six tenths to a 
stake, thence South one degree west forty five perches and eight tenths to a 
stake in the road leading to Fair Hill, thence with said Road North eight nine 
and one half degrees East nineteen perches and six tenths thence North six and 
one quarter degrees west fifty one perches and four tenths to the place of 
Beginning.  Containing Five acres and fourteen perches of land be the same more 
or less.  And the said Theodore F Armstrong has hereunto set his hand and seal 
for the purpose of Releasing the Real Estate hereby conveyed from the lien 
therein held by him in the Nature of a decree in the Circuit Court for Cecil 
County and passed in a certain cause therein in which James T McCullough, 
Administrator of Benjamin W Harris (deceased) was complainant and the said 
Matthew Borland and Amanda Borland his wife were Defendants and said Decree how 
held by the said Theodore F Armstrong but this Release in no respect to effect 
the lien upon the balance of said Real Estate.  And the said Matthew Borland 
covenants that he will warrant specially the property herein conveyed, and will 
execute such further assurances as may be required.
In Witness Whereof the said Matthew Borland, Amanda Borland his wife and 
Theodore F Armstrong have hereunto set their hands and seals on the day and year 
just above written.

and seventy two before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of

Amanda Borland his wife and Theodore F Armstrong and did each acknowledge the 
foregoing Deed to be their respective act.
