Know All Men by These Presents, That we Benjamin F Logan, William R Mearns, 
Thomas Tyson, Philip A Ricards of Cecil County in the State of Maryland are held 
and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of six 
Thousand six hundred dollars current money to be paid to the said State or its 
certain attorney, to the payment whenof will and truly to be made and done, we 
bind ourselves and each of us our and each of heirs executors and 
administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our 
seals and dated this Twenty second day of April Anno Domine Eighteen hundred and 
seventy two.  Whereas The county Commissioners of Cecil County have duly 
appointed the above named Benjamin F Logan Collector of Taxes in the Fifth 
Election District of Cecil County for the year Eighteen hundred and seventy two, 
Now the condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound 
Benjamin F Logan shall will and faithfully execute his office and shall account 
for and pay to the Treasurer of the State of Maryland the several sums of money 
which he shall receive for the State or be answerable for By Law at such times 
as the law shall direct, then this obligation to be void otherwise remains in 
full form and virtue in law.

On this 22 day of April AD 1872 before me the subscriber one of the Justices of 
the Peace for County of Cecil personally appeared Granville S Jeffries and Levi 
Riddell the subscribing witnesses to the above Bond or obligation and made oath 
in due form of law that they did see the obligors named in said Bond severally 
sign seal and deliver the same as their act and deed on the day upon which the 
same purports to have been executed.  Sworn before
