Witnesseth, that the said James F Gibbons for and in considerations of the sum of two hundred and thirty seven dollars current money to him in hand paid by the said Matthew Borland, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Matthew Borland his heirs executors administrators and assigns all the following personal property now in the possession of the said James F Gibbons that is to say, one wheat thresher and cleaner, one Brown Horse and one buggy wagon and set of harness belonging to said wagon. To Have and To Hold the above described property unto him the said Matthew Borland his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof and to and for no other uses intent or purpose whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said James F Gibbons hath hereunto set his hands and seal on the day and year first herein before written. James F Gibbons Signed Sealed & Delivered in presence of Edmund Brown Sen’r State of Maryland Cecil County to wit Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this tenth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty five before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the said State in and for the said County personally appeared James F Gibbons the party grantor in the within deed or instrument of writing who is Known to me to be the same and identical person who is named and described as and professes to be the party grantor in the within deed or Bill of Sale and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned, and the property thereby bargained and sold to be the right and Estate of Matthew Borland also named therein according to the true intent and meaning thereof. And at the same time and place personally appeared before me Matthew Borland the party grantee named in said Bill of Sale and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name on the day and year aforesaid.
