Witnesseth, Whereas by a Decree of the Circuit Court for Cecil County in Chancery, passed on the sixteenth day of January in the Year Eighteen hundred and fifty five, in the case of Samuel Lowry against Amy McConnell and others, the said George Earle and John A J Creswell Were appointed trustees to sell the Land decreed to be sold, and have sold the same to Matthew Borland at and for the sum of Six hundred and forty Dollars, who has fully paid the purchase money therefore Now therefore in consideration of the premises, the said George Earle and John A J Creswell, Trustees as aforesaid do grant unto the said Matthew Borland, All the right and title of all the parties to the aforesaid cause in and to all that tract, part of a tract, piece or parcel of Land lying and being in Cecil County, in the State of Maryland, and Contained within the following metes and bounds courses and distances, to Wit. Beginning at a Stone being a corner of Meeteers[?] land and in a line of the Land of Alexander Alexander’s deceased, and running from said Beginning Stone North thirty two and a half degrees West, Sixty one perches, thence South fifty six degrees West forty two perches to a stone; thence South Eighty nine and a half degrees West ___ perches to a stone in the East side of the North East Road, thence by and with said Road, to the Land of Andrew Hall; thence North Eight degrees East forty one perches by and with Said Hall’s Land to a Stone, thence South by and with said Land nine perches to a Stone, thence by a straight line to the place of Beginning – this being the same parcel of Land containing thirty Acres more or less, which was conveyed on the twentieth of April Eighteen hundred and forty-three by Samuel McConnell and Robert Brown to James Hodson trustee of William Lowry by their Deed of that date duly Executed and Recorded among the Land Records of Cecil County in Liber GMC No 4 folio 271 etc to which said Deed Recorded as aforesaid, for a fuller description of Said Land reference is hereby made. Witness Our hands and Seals George Earle, Trustee Jno A J Creswell, Trustee Test – The word “Eight” in the date having been first written on an Erasure Edmund Brown, Sen’r John P White State of Maryland Cecil County, To Wit I hereby Certify that on this Twenty Second day of February in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty Eight, before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Cecil County aforesaid, personally appeared George Earle and John A J Creswell Trustees above named and did Each acknowledge the aforegoing deed to be their respective act.
