The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber HWL, Number 4, Folio 118 THIS DEED, Made this Eighth day of November, in the year Nineteen Hundred and Twenty, by Robert C Thackery, Assignee, as hereinafter set forth, of Cecil County, in the State of Maryland; WHEREAS, in pursuance of authority contained in a mortgage from Laura Garrett and husband, to Kate M Arbuckle, dated September 4th, 1896, duly assigned to the said Robert C Thackery, and recorded in Liber WPH, No 1, folio 317, one of the Land Record Books of said Cecil County, the said Robert C Thackery, on the 27th day of July, 1920, sold the hereinafter described parcels of land, to Ellenora Braywood and Thomas S Braywood, as tenants in common, at and for the sum of Five Hundred and Thirty Dollars; AND WHEREAS, said sale was duly reported to and ratified by the Circuit Court for Cecil County, in Equity, and the purchase money has been fully paid, the said Assignee is authorized to execute this Deed. NOW, THEREFORE, THIS DEED WITNESSTH, That, in consideration of the premises and of the further sum of Five Dollars, current money, the said Robert C Thackery, Assignee as aforesaid, doth grant unto the said Ellenora Braywood and Thomas S Braywood, as tenants in common, all those three, adjoining lots of land, situated in the town of Elkton, and described as follows, namely: FIRST. All that lot, situated as aforesaid, Beginning at a stone set in the ground on the south side of the original tract of land bought by a certain Henry H Mitchell from William P Nelson and wife, by deed dated March 18th, 1871, at the distance of seventy five feet from the south west corner of said original tract, and running thence, with said south line twenty five feet, thence, in a northerly direction, and at right angles with said first line one hundred feet, thence, in a westerly direction and parallel with said first line, twenty five feet, and thence, in a southerly direction, one hundred feet to the Beginning. SECONDLY, All that lot, situated as aforesaid, Beginning at a point on the south side of a parcel of land, of which this was a part, which was conveyed to the said Henry H Mitchell, as hereinbefore set forth, at the distance of fifty feet from the south west corner of said original parcel, and running thence, with said south line, on the north side of a street, to a stone, thence, in a northerly direction, with the western line of said lot, one hundred feet to the north west corner of said last mentioned lot, thence, in a westerly direction, parallel with the first line of the lot hereby conveyed, twenty five feet, and thence, in a southerly direction one hundred feet to the Beginning. THIRD. All that lot, situated as aforesaid, and adjoining the lot hereinbefore described, and beginning at the south east corner of said lot and running on the front line of said lot extended, twenty five feet, to a stone, thence, in a northerly direction, parallel with the east side of said lot until it intersects the north line of said lot extended, one hundred feet, thence, with said north line extended, twenty five feet to the north east corner of said lot, and thence, with the easterly line of said lot, one hundred feet to the Beginning. Containing twenty five hundred square feet, more or less; being the same lots of land which were conveyed to the said Laura Garrett by Henry M McCullough, Trustee, by deed dated June 23rd, 1896, and recorded in Liber JTG, No 11, folio 236, another of said Land Record Books. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said Robert C Thackery, Assignee, as aforesaid, has hereunto set his hand and seal on the day and year first herein written.
