Witnesseth, that in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, paid me by William Knight, of Cecil County aforesaid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, I, the said Mary E Biddle do grant unto William Knight, his heirs and assigns, all that portion of the land whereof William R Biddle late of said County died seized and possessed lying and being in Sassafras Neck in Cecil County aforesaid, on the east side of the public road leading from Veazey’s Neck to the road leading from Earlesville to Hack’s Point, the portion hereby conveyed containing five acres more or less, and being bounded on the south and east by lands of the said William Knight, and on the north and west by lands of John E Leonard and by the public road first herein before mentioned, being part of the real estate devised to me the said Mary E Biddle by the last Will and testament of the said William R Biddle duly executed so as to pass real estate, dated on the twenty second day of October in the year eighteen hundred and seventy four, and recorded in the Office of Register of Wills for Cecil County aforesaid, in Liber F Volume 13 folio 218 etc. Witness my hand and Seal. Mary E Biddle Test: Geo R Vansant State of Maryland Cecil County, to wit: I hereby certify that on this twenty third day of October in the year eighteen hundred and Eighty before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Cecil County, aforesaid, personally appeared Mary E Biddle the above named grantor, and acknowledged the aforegoing deed to be her act.
