The said Howard Scott joining in the execution hereof, for the sole purpose of releasing a certain deed of Mortgage from the said John T Egner and wife to him dated the sixteenth day of April in the year eighteen hundred and ninety and now of record in Liber JAD No 20 folio 269 one of the Mortgage Record Books for Cecil County aforesaid from that part of the real estate included in the said Mortgage which is hereinafter mentioned and described, but hereby expressly reserving and retaining his said Mortgage lien on the remaining portion of the said Mortgage premises. Now this Deed Witnesseth that Howard Scott for the purpose of enabling the other grantors herein to convey the parcel of land hereinafter described, clear of his said Mortgage lien and the said John T Egner and Mary A Egner his wife for and in consideration of the full and just sum of Three hundred and thirty-six Dollars current money to them in hand well and truly paid by the said David T Devlin, at and before the unsealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted and by these presents Do Grant unto the said David T Devlin. All that part of a tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the Fourth Election District of Cecil County aforesaid, being a part of the farm whereof John W Egner late of said county deceased, died seized and which is described as follows: Beginning for the same at a stone a corner of the said Devlin and Egners land and running thence North fifty-five degrees East thirty eight perches down a ravine to the middle of the road, thence South fifty-three and a half degrees East twenty nine and four tenth perches along the middle of said road to the Cherry Hill road, thence South forty-three degrees West forty-three perches along the middle of the last named road to the said Devlin’s land, thence North forty-four and a half degrees West thirty-seven and a half perches with said Devilins land to the place of Beginning. Containing eight acres and sixteen perches of land more or less and being a part of a tract or parcel of land which was conveyed unto the said John T Egner by Howard Scott by deed dated the sixteenth day of April in the year eighteen hundred and ninety and now of record in Liber JAD No 18 folio 587 one of the Land Record Books for Cecil County aforesaid. To Have and To Hold the aforesaid part of a tract or parcel of land and premises with their appurtenances, unto the said David T Devlin, forever in fee simple. In Testimony Whereof the said John T Egner and Mary A Egner his wife and Howard Scott, have hereto set their hands and seals the day and year first herein written.
