The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber JAD, Number 9, Folio 37 I Philip A Ricards of Cecil County in the State of Maryland being now indebted unto Fanny R Buck of the City of Baltimore in the State of Maryland aforesaid, wife of Irvin A Buck, in the sum of six Hundred and Forty Dollars, in consideration thereof do herby bargain and sell to the said Fanny R Buck the following property to wit one bay horse “John” eight years old, one bay mare “Jennie” ten years old, one Sorrel mare “Fanny” five years old, one bay colt two years old, one red Cow six years old, one red and white Cow four years old, one black and white Cow six years old, one black and white Cow four years old, one Spotted red and white cow Eight years old, two black and white Sheirs(?) two years old, two red and white Sheirs(?) two years old, one red and white heifer two years old, one red yearling heifer, one black and fawn Colored Aloromy(?) bull three years old, one Jenny Ling(?) Carriage, one market wagon, one two horse farm wagon, one “Chunion” Mower, two harrows, three ploughs, three Cultivators, one “Buckeye” grain drill, one grain fan, one “Manny” reaper, said property being now in the possession of me on the farm in Elk Neck in Cecil County aforesaid belonging to Mrs Martha R Ricards and now occupied by me, Provided That if I the said Philip A Ricards shall pay to the said Fanny R Buck the sum of six hundred and Forty Dollars with the interest thereon from this date on or before the nineteenth day of June in the year Eighteen Hundred and Eighty five then these presents Shall be void. Witness my hand and Seal this nineteenth day of June in the year Eighteen Hundred and Eighty four. P A Ricards Test, the word “Manny” on first page being interlined before Signing H H Gilpin State of Maryland Cecil County, to wit: I Hereby Certify, That on this nineteenth day of June in the year Eighteen Hundred and Eighty four before me the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Cecil County aforesaid personally appeared Philip A Ricards the above named bargainer or Mortgagor and acknowledged the aforegoing Mortgage of Personal Property to be his act, And at the Same Time before me personally appeared Fanny R Buck the above named bargainee or Mortgagee and made oath in due form of Law on the Holy Evangely God that the consideration mentioned in the said mortgage is true and bona fide as therein set forth.
