The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Cecil County Land Record Book, Liber JGW, Number 8, Folio 420 THIS DEED, made this Fifteenth day of March, in the year Nineteen Hundred and One, between George A Blake, Attorney as mentioned in the mortgage herein set forth, and Mollie D Arbuckle, both of Cecil County, in the State of Maryland, grantor and grantee hereto respectively: WHEREAS under and by virtue of power and authority contained in a mortgage from Lydia A Jackson and husband to the said Mollie D Arbuckle, dated on the Twenty- fifth day of January, in the year eighteen hundred and ninety eight, and recorded among the land records of said County in Liber JGW No 3 folio 194, default was made by the said mortgagors in the payments therein set forth and whereas under said power (which by default became operative) the said George A Blake, Attorney as aforesaid, sold the real estate therein described at public sale to the said Mollie D Arbuckle at and for the sum of Fifteen Hundred Dollars, current money, and whereas, said sale has been reported to the Circuit Court for Cecil County in Equity in case No 2248, and has been confirmed by said Court and the whole of the said purchase money has been paid and the said Attorney is authorized to convey the said real estate unto the said Mollie D Arbuckle. NOW THESE PRESENTS WITNESSTH, that for and in consideration of the premises, he, the said George A Blake, Attorney, as aforesaid, does hereby grant and convey unto the said Mollie D Arbuckle, all of that piece or parcel of land, situated in the Ninth Election District of said County, on the road leading from Blue Ball to Brick Meeting House, containing thirty six acres and thirty four perches of land more or less, adjoining lands of Joseph T Groves, Hugh M Cameron and others, it being the same land which was conveyed unto the said Lydia Ann Jackson by Abner W Cathers and others, by their deed dated on the Twenty-fourth day of January, in the year eighteen hundred and ninety eight, duly executed and acknowledged, and recorded among the Land Records of said County in Liber JGW No 2, folio 319, it being also the same real estate contained within the description set forth in said mortgage and being the same land sole as aforesaid unto the said Mollie D Arbuckle. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, with the buildings and improvements thereon and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining, in fee simple.
