Bill of Sale
Written: March 9, 1807

Cecil County Land Records JS 2 Folio 468 Bill of Sale
Know all men by these presents that I Rowland Mahaffey of Cecil County and 
state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of $400 current money to 
me in hand paid by Joseph Steel of the county and state aforesaid at and 
before the selling and delivery thereof, the receipts whereof I do hereby 
acknowledge have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, 
bargain and sell unto the said Joseph Steel, his executors, administrators and 
assigns One bay gelding four years old, one melch cow red coloured, one white 
heifer four years old, one brown heifer two years old, one brindled heifer one 
year old, ten head of sheep, nine head of hogs, three feather beds, boulsters 
and pillows and bedding, one case of drawers, one desk, three pairs of 
bedsteads, one chest, two walnut tables, four pots, two bake ovens, table 
furniture, fire shovel and tongs, smithing utensils, plow shears, fifty 
bushels of buckwheat--all which property is now in my possession--to have and 
to hold by same described property above bargained and sold to the said Joseph 
Steel, his executors, administrators and assigns forever to his and thier only 
proper use and benefit and I, Rowland Mahaffey for myself, my executors and 
administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presence to 
the said Joseph Steel his executors, administrators and assigns the said 
described property against my executors and administrators and against all and 
every other person or persons whomever slaiming the same or any part thereof---
In testamony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the ninth 
day of March 1807
